Quality Control Engineer

Production Turned Parts (PTP) is an Engineering company based in Drury, South Auckland, supplying both production and short runs of components to innovative and leading-edge companies.

We pride ourselves on the quality of our work and have an established and diverse client base.  Our items are produced to tight tolerances with a high level of accuracy.

We are looking for an experienced Quality Engineer with a minimum of 5 years of manufacturing experience looking for a career path in engineering.  The right person would fit well into our growing team.

We are currently developing our ISO9001/AS9100 Manual to meeting increasing customer expectations.

The Role:

The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring products are manufactured and inspected in accordance with customer, regulatory and company requirements. The role is a hands-on manufacturing quality role requiring a technically competent individual with proven experience in quality engineering within a manufacturing environment.

 The Quality Engineer works closely with Director and Manufacturing team and key Customer Quality Control Departments to ensure products consistently meet specification and quality standards.

What you will do:

·         Operate CMM Machine and other precision measuring equipment.

·         Inspect first off articles and final inspection of manufactured items.

·         Collaborate on the development of our Quality Control procedures.

·         Update and implement the Quality Manual

·         Develop and maintain equipment inspection and calibration register.

·         Ensure products are manufactured to customer requirement.

·         Support the manufacturing team to improve products and processes.

·         Investigate Non-Conformances and support positive practice improvements.

·         Promote a culture where quality is the responsibility of every employee.

·         Maintain Quality records

·         Promote continuous improvement leading to strong quality processes and systems.

Experience required for this role:

·         A genuine interest in Quality Management leading to improvement in engineering and manufacturing of products.

·         A minimum of 5 years' experience in a hands-on quality role within a workshop environment.

·         Experience working within a formal quality management system, for example ISO 9001, AS9100.

·         Knowledge of P-PAP, ISO 9001/9100 and statistical analysis.

·         Work experience in aerospace, marine, cryogenics, medical or petrochemical manufacturing industries would be advantageous.

Technical skills required for this role:

·         Ability to read and interpret engineering drawing and specifications.

·         Competence with measurement.

·         Strong attention to detail, problem solving, data interpretation and analysis skills

·         Use of quality reporting to present the facts required for evidence-based quality recommendations.

·         CNC Machining experience supporting your understanding of manufacturing.

·         Excellent record keeping and communication skills.
