Quality Control Inspector 1

Job Summary

Hypertech USA is looking for a QC Inspector I with 1–3 years of hands-on inspection experience to join our AS9100D & ISO 9001:2015 certified team. You'll inspect machined parts at receiving, in-process, and final stages, verifying they meet dimensional, visual, and customer specifications, and build toward FAI and advanced inspection work alongside senior inspectors.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform receiving, in-process, and final inspections on components, subassemblies, and integrated hardware to verify compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
• Inspect manufactured hardware for workmanship, configuration, dimensional accuracy, and conformance to requirements.
• Use standard inspection and measurement equipment including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, thread gauges, pin gauges, and other precision measurement equipment.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, work instructions, and inspection plans to determine acceptance criteria.
• Verify dimensional features, hardware installation, fasteners, torque requirements, surface conditions, and overall workmanship as applicable.
• Support production and integration activities by performing inspections throughout the manufacturing and assembly process.
• Identify, document, and communicate nonconformances and work cross-functionally with Operations, Manufacturing, and Engineering teams to support disposition and resolution.
• Support root cause analysis on nonconforming parts by helping trace where in the process a part went awry.
• Accurately document inspection results and maintain required quality and traceability records.
• Support First Article Inspections (FAI) in accordance with AS9102 requirements, and other inspection activities as required.
• Maintain inspection equipment and ensure tools are within calibration requirements prior to use.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment while adhering to FOD control, contamination prevention, and applicable safety requirements.
• Communicate inspection status, quality concerns, and production risks to supervisors and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to inspection methods, workmanship, quality processes, and production efficiency.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of quality control or inspection experience in a machine shop or manufacturing environment (AS9100 or aerospace preferred)
• Hands-on proficiency with calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and thread/pin gauges
• Ability to read engineering drawings and interpret basic GD&T
• Exposure to AS9102 FAI and AS9100 documentation requirements preferred
• Accurate, detail-oriented documentation habits
• Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort with tolerances and shop math
• Able to work independently on routine inspections and take direction on complex ones
• Basic computer operation and word processing skills
• Fluent in English

Qualification Advantages (plus, but not required)

• Experience with CMM operation and programming
• Experience with visual inspection system
