  • Verify flange assembly, gasket selection and installation, bolting, and required torque procedures and documentation
  • Perform pre-test walkdowns for hydrostatic, pneumatic, or other required system testing, verifying test boundaries and system readiness including blinds, valves, vents, drains, gauges, test equipment, completed joints, and torque documentation
  • Witness and document pressure testing and other required system tests
  • Complete and maintain inspection checklists, test records, torque records, inspection photographs, reports, and other required project quality documentation
  • Assist with punch-list development, completion verification, system turnover, and project closeout documentation
  • Review current drawings, specifications, RFIs, field changes, and approved submittals to ensure inspections are performed against the latest approved information
  • Provide QC support to other Sylvan scopes at the Glendale jobsite when requested by the Sylvan QC Lead.

Experience with industrial construction, mechanical systems, process piping, fabrication, or related quality-control work is required, along with the ability to read piping drawings, isometrics, P&IDs, specifications, and installation details. Working knowledge of applicable piping and welding codes such as ASME B31.1, B31.3, and ASME Section IX, understanding of welding procedures, welder qualifications, visual weld inspection, and NDE processes, and experience with hydrostatic and pneumatic pressure-testing activities are expected. Familiarity with flange assembly, gasket installation, bolting, and torque requirements, along with the ability to maintain accurate and organized inspection and turnover documentation and communicate effectively with craft personnel, Foremen, Superintendents, Project Engineers, Project Managers, QC personnel, subcontractors, and customer representatives, is required. AWS CWI, NDE certifications, or other applicable quality certifications are preferred depending on project requirements.
