Quality Control Inspector

Quality Inspector – Castlebar, Co. Mayo

Arcon Recruitment is seeking a Quality Inspector for a manufacturing business based in Castlebar, Co. Mayo .

The successful candidate will inspect, test and verify products, helping to ensure production meets the required quality standards. This role would suit someone with previous quality control or inspection experience in a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Apply and maintain quality control management systems and procedures.
• Monitor production operations to ensure they meet established quality standards.
• Carry out ongoing inspection, testing and measurement of materials and finished products.
• Identify hazards and apply risk management principles and the hierarchy of controls.
• Ensure products comply with applicable standards, internal policies and regulatory requirements.
• Support or lead incident investigations and technical queries, documenting findings and identifying corrective actions and lessons learned.
• Operate precision inspection and measuring equipment.
• Verify and record product completion using the internal computer system.
• Train and assess new personnel across product lines.
• Inspect, approve or reject products within the authority assigned to the role.
• Work closely with production colleagues to resolve quality issues and support continuous improvement.

Requirements

• Previous quality inspection or quality control experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
• Understanding of quality systems, inspection procedures and production standards.
• Strong attention to detail and a consistent approach to accurate record keeping.
• Experience using precision measuring or inspection equipment.
• Good computer skills and confidence using internal production systems.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Location

Based in Castlebar , with commuting options from Westport, Newport, Balla, Foxford, Swinford, Claremorris, Ballinrobe, Knock and Ballina , depending on working hours and travel preferences.
