Quality Control Inspector-PMS

Job Summary

Under minimal supervision responsible for working from blueprints, engineering change notices, or established operating procedures to perform a wide range of complex inspection procedures and determine acceptance or rejection of parts, assemblies and materials.

Responsibilities and Duties

· Perform precision inspection verifications on machined parts, components, assemblies and materials. May include but is not limited to First Article Inspection, in-process and final inspection of assemblies and materials for workmanship & conformance to specifications/drawings

· Ability to utilize other inspection equipment such as micrometers, gauge blocks, dial indicators, height gauges, optical comparators, profilometers, and dial calipers

· Approves or rejects items and documents inspection results

· Communicates with internal customers to resolve inspection, engineering and manufacturing challenges

· Determines inspection procedure to ensure complete verification of specifications and dimensions

· Interpret blueprints and all relevant specification sheet(s) necessary for confirm conformity

· Obtains necessary fixtures, gauges, and indicators to check machine parts for compliance with specifications, within prescribed tolerances

· Create, modify and/or approve drawings used to determine conformity

· Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements

· High School diploma or equivalent

· 2 years of relevant experience; Bachelor’s degree in related discipline or technical school training courses may offset some or all experience requirement

· Must be familiar with MSOffice with the ability to prepare spreadsheets and inspection reports

· The ability to write effectively, to read and understand work documents, to communicate information clearly to co-workers and supervisor

· Functional understanding of ISO 9001/AS9100 requirements preferred

· Blue print interpretation and strong understanding of GD&T

· Passion, energy, sense of urgency, with a track record of setting goals and achieving them is required

· Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills with leadership skills and growth potential required

Physical Requirements

· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to effectively communicate. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The position requires frequent lifting, pushing and pulling objects that are 50 pounds or heavier

· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud

· Close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus

Pay: $20.00 - $36.00 per hour
