Quality Control Inspector (QC Inspector)

1.0 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Inspects incoming raw materials, parts-in-process and completed products for compliance with established specifications and dimensional tolerances, using statistical process techniques and written guidelines.

Specific responsibilities may include:

· Selects sample lots according to written sampling plans.

· Tests hardness of products/materials using Rockwell Hardness Tester and documentation results. Performs PMI tests on products and materials using Texas Nuclear and/or X-Met 880 and documents results for customer/internal files.

· Rejects, segregates, and tags material discovered to be out of specification and performs investigation as to cause.

· Produces Nonconformance Reports for corporate QC records.

· Proficient in the use of corporate-furnished measuring tools, including venier calipers, micrometers, protractors, and scales.

· Other duties as assigned.

2.0 REQUIREMENTS

2.1 EDUCATION AND TRAINING

· High School diploma /GED minimum

2.2 EXPERIENCE

· Experience in this or a closely related field.

· Comprehensive knowledge of pipe fittings and flanges and their Specifications is mandatory.

2.3 KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

· Capable of operating both overhead cranes and forklifts for material transport.

· Able to enter received materials into computer inventory.

· Should be able to interact with production workers and provide guidance for the solution of ordinary problems.

· Knowledge of Hardness Tester and PMI procedures and documentation requirements.

· Knowledge of fittings and flange production processes required.

· Able to interact with Third-Party Inspectors on a professional level.

2.4 PHYSICAL AND SAFETY

· Must be able to stand, sit and/or walk for up to 3 hours at a time.

· Must be able to exert 20 lbs. of force occasionally and/or 10 lbs. of force frequently and/or constantly move objects weighing a negligible amount. Must be able to lift a 10 lb. object vertically 3 foot high.

· Must comply with any safety or PPE requirements.

· Exposure to production environment.

· Exposure to hot and cold weather.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
