Quality Control Manager

We're seeking a QC Manager to oversee, inspect, coordinate, and maintain the quality and strength of steel pipe & structure welds in compliance with AWS standards. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, comfortable working with and around others, and has excellent communication skills. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Indiana.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform welding inspections in accordance with AWS standards
• Perform and/or review Radiographic Testing (RT) and Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT) in accordance with applicable codes and procedures
• Ensure correct practices are used for equipment, materials, and certification
• Coordinate with others to ensure accurate application of welds and equipment
• Ensure compliance with state health and safety regulations
• Maintain a clean and safe work area
• Prepare accurate daily reports detailing work activities, labor and equipment identification, quality, and accepted/rejected inspections
• Conduct daily inspections and quality assurance testing to ensure quality and compliance
• Work closely with Production Supervisors and engineers to determine corrective actions for rejected inspections
• Recommend approval of inspected work
• Promote safe work practices on site to ensure overall safety of all personnel
• Communicate effectively with team members and others
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Stay at the job site as required
• Can work during weekends and holidays sometimes

Qualifications

• AWS/CWI Certification
• ASNT SNT-TC-1A certification (Level II or III) in RT and PT preferred
• Must possess all applicable state-required certifications, registrations, or licenses for CWI work
• 5+ years of experience in weld work, or equivalent
• Extensive welding experience and understanding of welding processes (SMAW, GMAW, GTAW, etc.)
• Familiarity with welding codes and specifications
• Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints
• Strong ability in visual inspection and non-destructive testing methods
• Knowledge of health and safety practices related to welding
• Strong observation, analytical, and communication skills
• Proficient management and supervision skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Valid driver's license

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Sufficient vision to perform detailed visual inspections

Pay: $96,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
