Quality Control Manager

Now Hiring: Quality Control Manager — K-12 School Rebuild, Pacific Palisades, CA

Morgner Construction Management is looking for an experienced, full-time Contractor Quality Control (CQC) Manager to join a general contractor team on a major LAUSD project: the $125.6M fire-recovery rebuild of Marquez Charter Elementary School in Pacific Palisades.

This is a chance to help a community rebuild. The work includes demolition and abatement, about 22 new classrooms plus support buildings, and full replacement of site utilities, all next to a canyon slope that is prone to landslides.

Duties:

• Serve as the person responsible for directing, managing, coordinating, documenting, and reporting all contractor quality control activities
• Carry out the contractor’s CQC Plan from mobilization through closeout
• Oversee required contractor materials testing and certifications
• Coordinate with LAUSD inspectors, DSA inspectors of record, testing labs, and subcontractors
• Track deficiencies through correction and keep QC records complete and ready for audits

Required qualifications:

All candidates must have significant, documentable training and field experience on building construction projects of similar scale.

In addition, you must hold ONE of the following. Only one is required, not a combination:

1. California-licensed Engineer or Architect, OR
2. DSA Inspector, Class 1 or Class 2, with current California certification, OR
3. ICC/OSHPD Inspector with current California certification, OR
4. Construction contractor or superintendent (or similar role) with 10+ years of documentable experience on building projects, including school or hospital projects under DSA or OSHPD jurisdiction

Preferred

• LAUSD or other K-12 public school experience
• Experience with demolition, site utilities, or projects with geotechnical or slope conditions
