Quality Control Officer

About the role

This role involves quality assurance and inspection oversight for tools and hardware manufacturing and sourcing on the ground in China. Please expect 3-4 days per week of traveling to and in Mainland China. You will manage production documentation, establish inspection standards, conduct product evaluations and testing, and ensure compliance with company standards and international regulations. The position requires regular factory visits and collaboration with suppliers and third-party testing laboratories.

Key responsibilities

• Collect and update production documents, test specifications, Bill of Materials (BOM), and other relevant records
• Establish corresponding Inspection Requirement Standards for each new product
• Conduct product evaluations, testing, and sample sealing approval in accordance with company standards and mandatory domestic and international regulations
• Attend factory visits up to 4 days per week
• Create working relationships with factory management to collaborate effectively on customer requirements
• Gain a comprehensive understanding of the supplier's on-site production capacity and technical expertise
• Ensure products comply with customer requirements and standards, and report any non-compliance or violations promptly to management
• Perform During Production Inspections (DUPRO), Final Random Inspections (FRI), ad-hoc product testing, and various types of audits
• Oversee product reliability testing, conduct Verification and Validation tests for new products prior to mass production, and perform sample inspections
• Ensure that all relevant inspection criteria (checklist, specification, QA report etc.) and sealed sample are made available to the QC inspectors prior to production inspection.
• Perform root cause analysis on customer feedback and returned defective products, and issue reports
• Work with third party labs on product testing, testing protocols, standards, etc.
• Any ad hoc duties are required.

About you

• Bachelor's degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Management, or other related technical fields
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in Quality Assurance (QA)
• Fluent in Cantonese and Mandarin, with good command of English
• Proficient in documentation processing and technical report writing
• Proficient in data analysis
• Well-versed in AQL (Acceptable Quality Limit) inspection standards and industry standards such as ISO 9001
• Familiar with EU technical standard requirements
• Solid knowledge and experience in handling quality aspects of tools and hardware related products
• Demonstrate strong professional ethics and principles, with the ability to firmly and professionally handle inappropriate requests from factories
• Self-discipline, good team player, self-motivated, open minded, with willingness to travel frequently and capability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-intensity work environment
• Possess a preventive mindset regarding product safety and mass production consistency.
• Demonstrate strong professional ethics and principles, with the ability to firmly and professionally handle inappropriate requests from factories.
