Quality Control – New Product Development (NPD)

Job Title: Quality Control Executive/Engineer – New Product Development
Department: Quality / New Product Development
Reports To: Quality Manager / NPD Manager

Job Summary:
Responsible for ensuring that new products meet defined quality, performance, safety, regulatory, and customer requirements from concept through development, validation, and production launch.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review quality requirements and specifications for new products.
• Work closely with R&D, NPD, Production, Procurement, and Engineering teams during product development.
• Develop and review Quality Plans, Inspection Standards, SOPs, and acceptance criteria.
• Identify potential quality risks during product design and development.
• Conduct inspections and testing of prototypes, samples, raw materials, components, and finished products.
• Participate in prototype trials, pilot production, and pre-production validation.
• Analyze defects and deviations and coordinate Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
• Support FMEA, Control Plan, MSA, SPC, and process validation activities where applicable.
• Ensure product specifications and quality standards are properly transferred from NPD to mass production.
• Establish inspection methods and sampling plans for new products.
• Monitor first production runs and verify compliance with approved specifications.
• Maintain quality documentation, inspection records, test reports, and product validation records.
• Coordinate with suppliers regarding quality issues related to new components/materials.
• Support customer complaints and product improvement activities related to newly launched products.
• Track quality KPIs such as rejection rate, defect rate, first-pass yield, and customer complaints.
• Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards, company procedures, and regulatory requirements
