Quality Control Officer

About the role

The Quality Control Officer is responsible for monitoring production processes, inspecting raw materials, and testing finished goods to ensure they adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and food safety standards. This role involves identifying deviations from quality protocols and implementing corrective actions to maintain brand integrity.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct regular sensory, physical, and chemical tests on raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods.
• Ensure all production activities comply with HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) and established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Maintain accurate records of all inspections, non-conformance reports, and laboratory results for audit readiness.
• Monitor critical control points (CCPs) on the production floor, such as oven temperatures, cooling times, and packaging seal integrity.
• Verify the effectiveness of cleaning and sanitation procedures (SSOPs) before production lines commence.
• Inspect incoming shipments from suppliers to ensure ingredients meet specified quality parameters.
• Identify, quarantine, and report any sub-standard products or materials; assist in root cause analysis for recurring issues.

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Food Technology, Biology, Chemistry, or a related science field.
• Proven experience in a QC/QA role within a manufacturing setup (preferably food or beverage).
• Strong understanding of GMP, HACCP, and local food safety regulations.
• Proficiency in using laboratory equipment and testing tools.
• Basic knowledge of ISO quality management systems.
• High attention to detail, analytical thinking, and the ability to communicate firm quality standards to production staff.
• Comfortable working around industrial machinery and adhering to strict PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) requirements.
