What they need

Quality Control Officer

MELBOURNE

Full-time position

Have an eye for detail and a practical approach to solving problems? Help shape the quality of products used in homes across Australia.

Sabco isn’t just another consumer products business.

Established in 1892, Sabco is a proudly family-owned business behind some of Australia’s leading cleaning brands. We combine a strong heritage with an entrepreneurial spirit, investing in our people, product innovation and continued growth.

We move quickly, value initiative and encourage our people to contribute ideas. As we continue to grow, we’re looking for a Quality Control Officer who brings sound technical judgement, a hands-on approach and the confidence to uphold quality standards.

The Opportunity

As our Quality Control Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring Sabco products consistently meet our standards for quality, safety and reliability. From assessing incoming stock and supporting new product development to investigating customer returns, you will apply your attention to detail and practical problem-solving skills to identify issues and drive improvements. You will help resolve quality concerns, prevent recurring defects and ensure our products perform as expected—protecting the trust our customers place in the Sabco brand.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Inspecting and testing products: Assess incoming imported stock, new products, warehouse inventory and customer returns through visual, dimensional, functional and mechanical checks.
  • Uphold quality standards: Evaluate products against approved specifications and acceptance criteria, identifying and reporting defects and non-conformances.
  • Investigate complaints: Examine returned products and customer feedback to understand faults, identify trends and recommend improvements.
  • Support supplier corrective actions: Communicate findings, coordinate corrective actions and follow up on their effectiveness.
  • Maintain accurate records: Prepare clear inspection and test reports, document findings and track actions through to completion.
  • Drive continuous improvement: Work with internal teams and suppliers to strengthen product quality, testing methods and inspection processes.

We’re Looking for Someone Who...

You’re thorough, curious and comfortable asking questions. You can confidently raise a concern, explain your findings clearly and work constructively with others to find a solution.

You’ll bring:

  • Experience in quality control, product testing or inspection, ideally within consumer products, manufacturing or a related environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and a consistent approach to applying quality standards.
  • The ability to interpret product specifications, follow testing procedures and use relevant measuring and testing equipment.
  • Practical problem-solving skills, with an interest in understanding why a fault occurred and how to prevent it.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships across teams and with suppliers.
  • Strong organisation and accurate documentation skills, with the initiative to follow issues through to resolution.
  • Integrity and sound judgement, including the confidence to uphold standards when priorities compete.

A current forklift licence will be viewed favourably.
