Quality Control (QC) Inspector

Job Summary

Responsible for ensuring all printed plastic products meet customer specifications, color standards, artwork accuracy, and quality requirements. This role focuses on monitoring printing processes, inspecting printed output, and preventing defects such as misalignment, color variation, smudging, and poor adhesion.

Key Responsibilities

1. Pre-Production Verification

• Verify artwork, film, sample, and printing specifications before production.
• Ensure correct color codes (approved samples) and print layout are used.

2. In-Process Quality Control

• Monitor printing processes (e.g., Silk screen printing, heat transfer, labeling).
• Check print alignment, registration, color consistency, and clarity.
• Perform hourly or batch inspections to ensure consistent output.

3. Final Inspection

• Inspect finished printed products before packing or delivery.

• Ensure no defects such as:

  • Color deviation
  • Misregistration / misalignment
  • Ink smudging or bleeding
  • Poor adhesion / peeling
  • Missing or incorrect artwork

• Approve or reject finished goods based on QC standards.

4. Testing & Evaluation

• Conduct adhesion tests (e.g., tape test, scratch test).
• Perform durability checks where applicable.
• Compare output against approved samples or master standards.

5. Defect Control & Reporting

• Identify and segregate non-conforming products.
• Record defects and maintain QC inspection reports.
• Report quality issues immediately to production and supervisor.

6. Process Improvement

• Work closely with printing operators to troubleshoot quality issues.
• Support root cause analysis.
• Suggest corrective and preventive actions to reduce defects.

7. Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain proper QC records for traceability.
• Ensure compliance with customer specifications and internal SOPs.
• Support audits and customer inspections.

Requirements

Education & Experience

• Minimum SPM / Diploma in Manufacturing, Printing Technology, or related field.
• 1–3 years experience in QC or printing operations.
• Experience in screen printing or heat transfer is an advantage.

Skills & Competencies

• Good understanding of printing processes and common defects.
• Basic knowledge of color matching (Pantone or visual comparison).
• Attention to detail and strong visual inspection ability.
• Ability to read artwork, layout, and simple technical drawings.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.

Technical Skills

• Familiar with QC inspection tools and checklists.
• Basic computer skills for reporting.
• Understanding of ISO 9001 quality system is an added advantage.
