Role Overview

Are you detail-oriented with a passion for food safety and product excellence? We are seeking a Quality Control Technician to support our food safety and quality programs on the production floor. Key Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled in-process and finished-product checks against specifications, including packaging integrity, labels, date codes, and dud-detector checks on glass lines.
• Conduct pre-op/post-sanitation inspections; perform ATP verification/swabbing where assigned and escalate failed results
• Conduct GMP audits, cooler temperature checks, and routine metal detector verifications.
• Verify allergen and changeover controls according to approved procedures.
• Identify, document, segregate, and initiate hold of suspected non-conforming product as required, and escalate significant concerns.
• Maintain accurate physical and electronic QC records and communicate quality issues immediately to Production, Sanitation, Maintenance, and QA management.
• Monitor and enforce GMPs, hygiene guidelines, and facility safety standards.
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the QA Manager, based on operational, food safety, quality, regulatory, or business needs.

Qualifications

• Education: Post-secondary diploma in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field.
• Experience: 1+ years’ experience in food manufacturing.
• Practical knowledge of HACCP, GMPs, and GFSI standards (such as SQF).
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office and food lab testing methods.
• High attention to detail, analytical problem-solving skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication
• Ability to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with metal detector testing, temperature monitoring, and ATP systems is a plus.

Working Conditions

• Active, production-floor role requiring standing, walking, bending, and light lifting (up to 10 lbs).
• Exposure to cold/wet production environments and food odors.
