Compliance & Inspection Management
- Manage and coordinate all official USDA inspections and communicate sensitive customer acknowledgements (e.g., Blue Apron, National accounts) to operations.
- Ensure all facility logs, records, and inspection results comply with local and federal food safety laws and regulations.
- Oversee the proper calibration and maintenance of inspection equipment used by the team.
Inventory & Quality Strategy
- Partner with Buyers, Sales, and Warehouse Teams to evaluate aging inventory, manage warehouse quality issues, and determine when a defective lot can be salvaged through sorting/re-packing versus when it must be dumped.
- Serve as the technical expert and final authority for second opinions on complex commodity condition coding.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in quality control by collaborating with Managers, Supervisors, and Warehousemen.
