Position Title: Quality Control Supervisor
Position Type: Direct hire
Salary: $95,000-110,000
A leading small-molecule contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) is seeking a Quality Control Supervisor to lead day-to-day operations in its analytical laboratory. This is an opportunity for an experienced GMP laboratory professional to guide a skilled team, strengthen laboratory execution, and help ensure the quality and integrity of pharmaceutical materials and products.
You will set the laboratory’s daily direction, balancing priorities, people, and compliance—while serving as a trusted partner to other departments. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical chemistry expertise with a hands-on, people-first leadership style and sound judgment in a regulated environment.
What you’ll do
- Lead daily laboratory operations
- Set testing priorities, schedules, and staff assignments to support timely, reliable laboratory output. Provide day-to-day direction, coaching, and feedback, and serve as a communication link between the QC laboratory and other facility departments.
- Protect data quality and compliance
- Ensure analytical results are reviewed in accordance with company policy and that laboratory practices meet applicable regulatory requirements. Supervise and perform laboratory investigations, and help prepare for internal and external audits and inspections.
- Develop and support the team
- Participate in recruiting and onboarding, conduct performance and compensation reviews, and deliver or support procedural, cGMP, and safety training. Build collaborative working relationships across the organization.
- Maintain a ready, reliable laboratory
- Oversee equipment calibration schedules and ensure required calibrations and maintenance are completed on time. Author standard operating procedures and support the review and revision of existing procedures.
- Contribute hands-on expertise
- As needed, perform analytical testing of raw materials, in-process samples, and finished products using laboratory instrumentation such as HPLC, GC, CE, ICP, FTIR, TOC, and dissolution apparatus. Serve as backup for laboratory management and take on related responsibilities as needed.
What you’ll bring
- A bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemistry or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- At least 8 years of experience in a GMP analytical chemistry laboratory, including hands-on experience with instrumentation such as HPLC, GC, CE, ICP, FTIR, TOC, and dissolution apparatus.
- Demonstrated ability to lead laboratory staff, set direction, and support effective day-to-day execution.
- Strong communication and active-listening skills, with the ability to build productive relationships at all levels of an organization.
- Excellent organization, attention to detail, and prioritization skills; able to manage concurrent responsibilities with minimal supervision.
