Job Overview

The Quality Control Technician ensures manufactured products align with customer requirements through rigorous testing, measurement, and precision inspections. Serving as a mentor and catalyst for change within the APS framework, this role aligns CMM and quality activities across all shifts, supports complex projects, and transmits critical skills to peers. While the position has no direct supervisory responsibilities, it plays a vital role in process optimization, cause detection, and sustaining shop-floor quality standards. Quality Alignment & Metrology

· Coordinate shift-to-shift activities by aligning CMM tasks and operational quality workflows.

· Plan and perform routine measurements to monitor serial production; maintain and update the Visual Management Board daily.

· Create correction reports, perform capability studies, and carry out cleanliness tests.

· Work with Engineering on sampling requirements for customer tools, first sampling of purchased parts, and capability testing for machinery and quality equipment.

· Participate in new project kick-offs, define test requirements, and handle measurement correlation with customers.

· Implement metrological planning during product development and sustain SPC systems.

· Assist with customer complaints and PPAP inspections, including document preparation. Gauge Management & Shop Floor Operations

· Participate in defining test requirements and approving test systems/devices alongside the Project manager

· Conduct routine, random, and incoming inspections per control plans, documenting and interpreting all results.

· Ensure shop floor machines have required gauges, documents, and instructions, providing backup support for CMM operators when needed.

· Maintain the blocking area to standard, manage non-capable processes or defective products, and coordinate with Production to sort suspect material.

Process Optimization & Support

· Assist the Production Manager with process optimization and systemically analyze technical manufacturing processes.

· Detect root causes of quality issues in serial manufacturing.

· Perform additional tasks as assigned by Management or the Quality Supervisor; travel may occasionally be required.

Authorizations & Reporting

· Delivers regular updates and reports directly to the Quality Manager

· Authorized to block non-capable processes, hold defective products, and stop production or shipments when quality standards are compromised.

· Authorized to sign on behalf of Alupress LLC according to official signature authorization guidelines.

· Must promptly notify Shift Supervisors of any status changes on the floor.

· Other duties may be assigned as needed to support department goals and meet company expectations.

Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 56.0 per week
