Quality Control Technician

General Description

The Quality Control Technician is responsible for the quality and aesthetics of the product. QC Technician reports back to Quality Control Lead.

Competencies

• Responsible for monitoring quality checks throughout the manufacturing process
• Perform sanitation verification and allergen tests on equipment and other areas
• Responsible for the correct recording and filing all relevant records/documentation
• Ensures product is within specification before release to customer/market
• Ensures all employees are following cGMP regulations
• Collects samples for laboratory testing and retention
• Perform inspection on products, equipment and machinery
• Assists with tasks delegated by the Quality Control Lead or Quality Control Manager
• Must be able to work in a team environment
• Must have good written and oral skills
• Ability to work in fast-paced, effectively under pressure, and deadline-oriented environment

Training Competencies

• Must be familiar or have the ability to learn cGMP, GLP, and NSF regulations in regards to cosmetics, drugs, and dietary supplements.

Qualifications

Education

• Associates degree or higher in biological sciences, chemistry, or related field
• Or, 2+ years of academic exposure to chemistry, biology, and/or microbiological sciences

Experience

• Demonstrate proficiency in: algebra, following directions, using available references, and situational problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Demonstrate strong organizational skills
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Ability to manage and maintain confidential information
• Ability to maintain professional standards and demonstrate sound judgment during peaks periods of activity
• Knowledge of computers, including (but not only) Microsoft Office Suite

Physical Demands

Standing, walking, climbing stairs, and sitting for extended periods of time. Occasional unassisted lifting or moving up to 40lbs. Vision acuity for viewing of computer screen and documents. Hearing ability for direct and phone communication.

Work Environment

Noise level in office environments is usually quiet to moderate, with possible exposure to production plant noise and vibration. Moderate to loud noise may be experienced outside along pathways to various buildings. Earplugs may be available for safety.

Pay: $17.75 - $18.75 per hour
