Quality Controller

A QC Engineer (Quality Control Engineer) in the Civil Department is responsible for ensuring that all construction activities and materials meet approved drawings, project specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.

Key Job Responsibilities

1. Material Quality Inspection

• Inspect cement, sand, aggregates, steel, bricks, and other construction materials.
• Verify material test reports and certificates.
• Ensure materials comply with project specifications and relevant IS codes.

2. Concrete Quality Control

• Conduct slump tests and concrete temperature checks.
• Collect concrete samples and prepare cube specimens for compressive strength testing.
• Monitor concrete pouring, mixing, compaction, and curing.
• Verify concrete mix design and grade.

3. Site Quality Inspection

• Inspect reinforcement steel, shuttering/formwork, and embedded items before concreting.
• Check line, level, alignment, dimensions, and cover blocks.
• Inspect excavation, PCC, RCC, masonry, plastering, and finishing works.
• Ensure work is carried out according to approved drawings and method statements.

4. Documentation and Reports

• Prepare Inspection Requests (IR/RFI).
• Maintain inspection checklists and material test reports.
• Prepare daily quality reports and test registers.
• Maintain quality records for audits and project handover.

5. Quality Standards and Compliance

• Follow applicable IS codes, project specifications, and approved Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) procedures.
• Coordinate with consultants, clients, contractors, and site engineers.
• Raise Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for defective or non-compliant work.
• Follow up on corrective and preventive actions.

6. Testing and Inspection

• Coordinate soil, field density, aggregate, concrete, and steel testing.
• Review laboratory test results and ensure compliance with acceptance criteria.
• Verify calibration of testing equipment where applicable.

7. Final Inspection and Handover

• Conduct inspections before work is covered or handed over.
• Identify defects and ensure rectification.
• Prepare punch lists and quality handover documents.

Essential Skills

• Knowledge of civil engineering materials and construction methods.
• Understanding of IS codes and project specifications.
• Knowledge of concrete testing and site inspection procedures.
• Ability to read civil drawings and reinforcement details.
• Experience in preparing QA/QC documentation.
• Good coordination and communication skills.

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹55,000.00 per month
