Quality Director

About the role

Lead garment quality management for an established international manufacturing group with approximately 5,000 employees serving leading international fashion brands. This strategic leadership role involves strengthening quality systems, ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality products that meet demanding international brand standards, and working closely with international customers and overseas counterparts while driving quality excellence across garment manufacturing operations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end garment quality management, from raw materials and trims to finished products.
• Develop and strengthen quality systems in line with ISO 9001, international customer requirements and brand-specific standards.
• Manage customer quality inspections, factory audits and corrective action plans.
• Drive root cause analysis (RCA), defect reduction, risk mitigation and continuous quality improvement.
• Lead, develop and build a high-performing quality team.
• Use quality data analytics and digital tools to improve manufacturing quality and operational efficiency.
• Work closely with Production, Technical/R&D, Industrial Engineering and Procurement teams to resolve quality issues and improve processes.
• Manage quality expectations and resolve critical quality issues with major international apparel clients.

About you

• Bachelor's degree or above, preferably in Textile, Garment Manufacturing, Engineering or a related discipline.
• At least 10 years of apparel quality management experience, with a minimum of 5 years in a senior Quality Manager, QA Director or equivalent leadership position.
• Strong experience in large-scale garment manufacturing, preferably within a Tier 1 factory or established apparel manufacturing group.
• Experience managing quality for international apparel brands is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of garment construction, manufacturing processes, AQL, quality systems and customer audits.
• Familiarity with ISO 9001, root cause analysis, Lean/Six Sigma and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Professional Mandarin proficiency is mandatory, as the role requires close collaboration with China-based counterparts.
• Good English communication skills are an advantage.
• Willingness to relocate to Jepara, Indonesia, and travel internationally when required.
