Job Description: The Quality Engineer relies on experience in each of the following: assist in the development and tracking of key quality metrics and reporting to management; support calibration programs for inspection and test equipment; review purchase orders and incoming material certifications for compliance with specifications and regulatory requirements; participate in internal and external audits, surveys and surveillances; review of quality records to verify acceptability and compliance; and support nonconformance investigations and corrective/preventive action processes, as well as: working with industry codes, standards, or quality management frameworks—such as, but not limited to, ASME Section III or Section VIII, ISO 9001, NQA 1, 10 CFR 21, or other comparable regulatory or engineering standards used in regulated industries, or within any regulated environment that applies equivalent compliance, reporting, or quality program requirements.

The Quality Engineer enacts quality control procedures to resolve production problems or minimize costs; design control systems to coordinate activities and production planning in order to ensure that products meet quality standards; coordinate and implement quality control objectives, activities, or procedures to resolve production problems, maximize product reliability, or minimize costs; performance quality checks and testing; and performs daily quality assurance activities, including product inspection, creating batch records, line balancing, safety, and PPE checks.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Industrial Engineering, Industrial and Systems Engineering, or a related field plus two (2) years post-baccalaureate experience as a Quality Engineer, Manufacturing Quality Engineer, or related occupation. Must also possess one (1) year of experience in each of the following: assisting in the development and tracking of key quality metrics and reporting to management; supporting calibration programs for inspection and test equipment; reviewing purchase orders and incoming material certifications for compliance with specifications and regulatory requirements; participating in internal and external audits, surveys and surveillances; in the review of quality records to verify acceptability and compliance; supporting nonconformance investigations and corrective/preventive action processes; and experience working with industry codes, standards, or quality management frameworks—such as, but not limited to, ASME Section III or Section VIII, ISO 9001, NQA 1, 10 CFR 21, or other comparable regulatory or engineering standards used in regulated industries. Experience related to 10 CFR 21 and NQA 1 may be satisfied through one year of work in a Quality Assurance role within any regulated environment that applies equivalent compliance, reporting, or quality program requirements.

Travel Requirements: 25%, local, statewide, national assignments.

Salary: The offered salary for this position is eighty thousand to one hundred thousand dollars.
