About the Opportunity:

Our client, a leading aerospace manufacturer, is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to help drive product quality, manufacturing excellence, and continuous improvement.

In this role, you’ll work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Program Management to develop and strengthen quality systems, manufacturing processes, and inspection methods. You’ll use data, risk analysis, and structured problem-solving techniques to identify opportunities, prevent quality issues, and ensure products consistently meet customer, regulatory, and company requirements.

This is an excellent opportunity for a quality professional who enjoys working directly with manufacturing teams and wants to make a measurable impact in a high-tech aerospace environment.

What You’ll Do:

Quality Engineering & Process Development

  • Develop, implement, and maintain inspection plans for new and existing programs.
  • Review engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements to ensure manufacturing and inspection processes meet applicable standards.
  • Partner with Engineering throughout product development, process validation, and manufacturing readiness.
  • Support Process Control Plans, PFMEA activities, risk assessments, and risk mitigation efforts.
  • Analyze manufacturing and quality data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Establish and monitor quality KPIs to evaluate process and quality system effectiveness.
  • Apply statistical methods and data analysis to improve process capability and product consistency.
  • Ensure manufacturing documentation, inspection requirements, and quality records remain accurate and up to date.

Problem Solving & Corrective Action

  • Serve as a technical resource for quality-related problem solving across the organization.
  • Lead and facilitate root cause analysis using tools such as 5 Why, Fishbone, FMEA, DMAIC, and risk analysis.
  • Lead and support corrective and preventive action initiatives.
  • Work closely with Manufacturing to reduce defects, scrap, and rework.
  • Partner with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to investigate and resolve quality concerns.
  • Provide technical guidance and training on quality tools, inspection methods, and applicable quality standards.
  • Help promote a proactive culture where quality is built into the process rather than inspected in after production.

Continuous Improvement

  • Monitor quality metrics and identify opportunities to improve manufacturing performance.
  • Evaluate processes to reduce variation and improve first-pass yield.
  • Support the implementation and ongoing maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Identify inspection equipment, tooling, gauges, and personnel requirements needed to support quality objectives.
  • Participate in new product introduction and manufacturing process improvement initiatives.
  • Support leadership with strategic quality planning and long-term improvement projects.
  • Recommend process improvements that increase productivity while maintaining or improving product quality.
  • Drive initiatives that reduce risk, improve process capability, and increase customer confidence.

What We’re Looking For:

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
  • 3+ years of Quality Engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings and applying GD&T / ASME Y14.5.
  • Experience with quality and problem-solving tools, including:
  • Root Cause Analysis
  • FMEA
  • Fishbone
  • 5 Why
  • Statistical analysis
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in aerospace or composite manufacturing.
  • Working knowledge of AS9100 and NADCAP requirements.
  • Experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC).
  • Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience/certification.
  • Experience working directly with customers, suppliers, or external auditors.

What Will Make You Successful:

The ideal candidate is a hands-on quality professional who can combine technical knowledge with strong communication and problem-solving skills. You’ll be expected to work collaboratively across departments, influence teams through technical expertise, and turn data into practical improvements.

You should be comfortable:

  • Analyzing data and translating findings into actionable improvements.
  • Solving complex manufacturing and quality problems.
  • Working cross-functionally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Program teams.
  • Balancing customer requirements with manufacturing capabilities.
  • Communicating effectively with employees, suppliers, auditors, and customers.
  • Managing multiple projects while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
  • Taking ownership of quality initiatives from identification through resolution and follow-up.

Why Join?

  • 4/10 work schedule with three-day weekends every week
  • Competitive compensation
  • Bonus eligible
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
  • 401(k) program
  • Paid time off
  • Career growth opportunities
