Quality Engineer

About the role

This role involves formulating and implementing a Quality Management System for the Quality Department, ensuring all products and processes meet customer requirements and in-house standards.

Key responsibilities

• Formulate and implement Quality Management System for the Quality Department.

• Liaise with external parties such as customers, sub-contractors and vendors about quality specification and requirements.

• Ensure incoming material, in-process materials, and final products meet customer requirements and in-house standards.

• Document products and quality specifications.

• Ensure all products produced comply with company standard specification or customers' specifications.

• Ensure Corrective Actions are taken against non-conforming products.

• Monitor equipment calibration and initiate CAR for internal and external responses.

• Prepare inspection reports for all inspections carried out.

• Communicate and liaise with production teams to implement process improvements and corrective actions.

• Coordinate customer complaints and feedback and report results and updates to top management promptly and effectively.

About you

• Diploma or Degree in relevant field.
• At least 2 years working experience in relevant field.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949, QMS and EMS.
• Proactive in conducting continuous improvement.
• Good analytical, problem solving and judgement skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Able to communicate effectively with internal and external functional teams.
• Have auditing skill and experience either to supplier or internally.
• Knowledge of various quality system methodologies such as 8D, Lean, 5 Why's, Pareto Analysis, Six Sigma, DFMEA, PFEMA, PPAP preferred.
