Quality Engineer

About the role

This role involves managing NPI (New Product Introduction) and transfer projects to meet customer and applicable regulatory requirements. You will establish new and transferred product testing, inspection procedures, inspection criteria, and work instructions. You will establish reliability test programs to ensure product life meets customer requirements, plan and perform product evaluation tests for new projects or alternative sources, and follow up on issues that arise during control runs.

Key responsibilities

• Handle NPI/transfer projects to meet customer and applicable regulatory requirements
• Establish new/transferred product testing, inspection procedures, inspection criteria, and work instructions
• Establish reliability test programs to ensure product life meets customer requirements
• Plan and perform product evaluation tests for new projects, alternative sources, or applicable product changes
• Follow up on issues arising during control runs to ensure new/transferred products are developed for manufacturing
• Prepare testing/inspection procedures and transfer previous failure history to PQC/OQC engineers
• Learn periodically on test methodology employed through co-operational laboratories, competitors, and international specifications, and deploy into test plans
• Prepare required documents as per QMS, customer-specific, and/or regulatory requirements along NPI stages
• Provide training to QC engineers, leaders, and inspectors during development transition to production stage
• Handle all maintenance activities of testing facilities

Requirements

• At least 2 years in Quality Assurance for transferred/new Product Introduction, Reliability, Safety and EMI test field
• Experienced in studying product specification and applicable test standards to establish product test plans, specifications, and inspection procedures
• Well experienced and practiced in product quality and reliability testing
• Well-practiced with QC 7 Tools, 5 Core Tools, 8D, and capability studies
• Understanding and hands-on experience with ESD S20.20 Compliance standard is an advantage
