Quality Engineer

We are looking for a detail-oriented and technically skilled Quality Engineer with good knowledge of sheet metal manufacturing processes. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring that raw materials, in-process components, and finished products meet the required specifications, drawings, and quality standards.

The candidate will work closely with the Production, Design, Purchase, Stores, and Assembly teams to identify quality issues, implement corrective actions, and maintain consistent product quality.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

• Conduct incoming, in-process, and final inspection of sheet metal components.
• Inspect products according to customer drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
• Understand and interpret 2D engineering drawings, dimensions, tolerances, and specifications.
• Inspect components produced through:
• Laser Cutting
• CNC Bending
• Punching
• Welding & Fabrication
• Grinding
• Powder Coating
• Assembly
• Check critical dimensions and tolerances using appropriate measuring instruments.
• Perform inspection using Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Height Gauge, Measuring Tape, Bevel/Angle Gauge, and other inspection tools.
• Identify dimensional, visual, welding, fabrication, and finishing defects.
• Prepare and maintain inspection reports and quality records.
• Ensure rejected or non-conforming materials are properly identified and segregated.
• Coordinate with Production to resolve quality issues and prevent recurrence.
• Conduct in-process inspection at different stages of manufacturing.
• Perform final inspection before products are moved to dispatch.
• Monitor product quality against approved drawings and specifications.
• Support root cause analysis for recurring quality problems.
• Implement and monitor Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
• Coordinate with suppliers regarding incoming material quality issues.
• Support supplier quality improvement activities when required.
• Maintain records of rejection, rework, scrap, and customer complaints.
• Assist in preparing quality-related reports for management.
• Support customer inspections and audits when required.
• Ensure proper calibration and maintenance of measuring instruments.
• Promote quality awareness among production and assembly operators.
• Ensure compliance with company quality procedures and standards.

Sheet Metal Knowledge Required

Measuring Instruments Knowledge

Candidate should be familiar with:

• Micrometer
• Height Gauge
• Measuring Tape
• Steel Scale
• Angle Gauge
• Feeler Gauge
• Thread Gauge
• Basic inspection and measuring equipment

Knowledge of CMM and other advanced measuring equipment will be an added advantage.
