What they need

Key Responsibilities

  1. Production Floor Quality Ownership
  • Take ownership of daily quality performance on assigned production lines (FPY, DPPM, customer-reported defects)
  • Conduct structured daily floor walks using defined route maps and inspection checklists
  • Respond immediately to production line emergencies; make stop-line decisions in coordination with production and the Quality Manager
  • Conduct first-line investigation on common SMT/DIP defects (tombstoning, cold solder, shorts, BGA voids) and escalate complex issues with proper data
  1. Local Quality Team Leadership
  • Lead and develop the local quality team of 10+ members: assign tasks, conduct performance reviews, deliver skills training
  • Identify and elevate strong team members; coach underperformers through structured root-cause approach (training gap vs. tools gap vs. discipline issue)
  • Build a culture of accountability and structured execution on the production floor
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with production, engineering, and process teams to resolve daily quality issues
  1. Customer Build Reports & Technical Communication
  • Own end-to-end preparation of customer build reports — submitted to Quality Manager for final review
  • Adapt to varying customer templates and technical specifications; learn new requirements quickly for each new project
  • Support customer audits and on-site visits: prepare documentation, coordinate logistics, drive corrective actions to closure
  1. Quality Improvement & Non-Conformance Handling
  • Lead 8D report writing in English for customer complaints and major internal NCRs
  • Apply QC tools (5-why, fishbone, SPC, basic FMEA) to drive root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions
  • Identify chronic quality issues proactively (e.g., elevated DPPM trends) and initiate improvement projects before they escalate to customer complaints
  • Coordinate non-conforming product disposition with the Quality Manager and customs team
  1. Quality System Execution
  • Execute and maintain ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 procedures under the direction of the Quality Manager
  • Update Control Plans, work instructions, and visual aids based on field findings and improvement results
  • Ensure local team compliance with established procedures and inspection standards (IPC-A-610 Class 2/3)

QualificationsRequired

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or related field
  • Equivalent technical experience considered (TSU + 5 years of relevant experience acceptable)

Language Skills

  • English: Professional working proficiency — required for direct communication with North American customers and the Quality Manager; ability to write technical reports, 8D documents, and lead customer technical meetings

Work Experience

  • 3–5 years of quality experience in PCBA or electronic manufacturing
  • Hands-on SMT process quality experience (mandatory) — direct exposure to reflow, solder paste inspection, AOI, and common defect troubleshooting
  • Some leadership experience: formal team lead role OR demonstrated informal leadership (mentoring junior staff, leading projects, training others)
  • Experience writing technical reports in English for customer submission

Technical Skills

  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 (does not need to be the primary architect, but should understand the framework and execution requirements)
  • Proficient in IPC-A-610 (Class 2 minimum, Class 3 preferred)
  • Proficient in 7 QC tools, 8D methodology, basic FMEA, CPK
  • Strong Excel and data analysis skills; familiarity with MES systems

Soft Skills

  • Floor presence — comfortable spending significant time on the production line, not behind a desk
  • Resilience — able to handle peak periods of intense activity (build phases, customer audits) with extended hours when required
  • Learning mindset — open to mentorship from a senior Quality Manager; comfortable asking questions and applying feedback
  • Cross-cultural collaboration — able to work effectively with Chinese management style while bridging communication with the local Mexican team
  • Structured execution — preference for defined processes, checklists, and documented results over ad-hoc problem solving

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25,000.00 - $35,000.00 per hour

Language:

  • English (Required)
