Quality Engineer

About the role

We are seeking a Quality Engineer to join our Company in Bayan Lepas, Penang. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in ensuring our manufacturing processes meet the highest quality standards and compliance requirements. As a Quality Engineer, you will be instrumental in maintaining product excellence, reducing defects, and driving continuous improvement across our operations.

Key responsibilities

• Develop, implement and maintain quality assurance procedures and standards across all manufacturing processes
• Conduct regular inspections, testing and audits to ensure products meet specified quality requirements and regulatory standards
• Identify quality issues, analyse root causes and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
• Monitor and analyse quality data to identify trends and opportunities for process improvement
• Prepare and maintain comprehensive quality documentation, including test reports, inspection records and compliance certificates
• Collaborate with production teams to resolve quality-related issues and optimise manufacturing processes
• Conduct training sessions to ensure staff understand quality standards and procedures
• Liaise with suppliers and customers regarding quality matters and product specifications
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations, standards and customer requirements

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Management or a related discipline

• Minimum 2 years of experience in quality assurance, quality control or a related role within manufacturing environments

• Good knowledge of quality management tools and methodologies, including ISO 9001, SPC, MSA, FMEA, APQP and Root Cause Analysis, with the ability to apply these concepts effectively in a manufacturing environment.

• Experience in conducting internal or external audits, handling customer complaints, investigating quality issues, and implementing effective corrective and preventive actions to ensure problems are properly addressed and do not recur.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel, with the ability to organize, analyze, and present quality-related data and prepare clear and accurate reports for management review.

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to identify the root cause of quality issues, develop practical solutions, and communicate effectively with different departments and stakeholders.

• Six Sigma or Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) certification will be an added advantage, demonstrating additional knowledge and commitment to quality improvement and professional development.
