Quality Engineer

Ensures that products being built and processes being used adhere to all standards and requirements. Monitors engineering processes and products for adherence to company and regulatory standards and practices. Participates in quality-improvement initiatives and projects. Performs quality reviews and internal audits; evaluates data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards. Analyzes statistical data and product specifications to determine standards and establish quality and reliability objectives of finished product. Recommends modifications to existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability.

Responsabilities:

• Serve as a liaison between Quality, Production, and Engineering to troubleshoot process and product issues and implement effective corrective actions.
• Maintain and improve the manufacturing quality system for assigned product lines in accordance with IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 requirements.
• Provide strong shop-floor support to identify, contain, and resolve quality issues while preventing recurrence and potential safety risks.
• Coordinate quality activities for new product development, APQP, product launches, start-ups, and mass production.
• Develop and maintain Process Flow, PFMEA, Control Plans, inspection criteria, and process controls for critical product and process characteristics.
• Lead PPAP activities, product release, inspections, validations, and quality requirements for new and existing products.
• Apply SPC, MSA, Minitab, and Excel to monitor process performance, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement.
• Lead 8D, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and customer complaint resolution, ensuring effectiveness and prevention of recurrence.
• Coordinate containment, rework, inspection, and validation of non-conforming material and internal/external quality findings.
• Conduct and support internal, process, product, and customer audits, develop quality procedures and training, and ensure compliance with applicable customer and industry standards.

Requirements:

• +3 years experience in similar roles, Quality or Manufacturing Engineering
• Bilingual English/Spanish
• Bachelor’s degree
• Strong knowledge of IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 quality management systems.
• Strong knowledge of AIAG Core Tools, (APQP, PPAP, PFMEA / FMEA, Control Plan, SPC, MSA)
