Quality Engineer

The Quality Engineer champions product quality and customer satisfaction by leading the resolution of non-conformances and customer complaints through containment, root cause analysis, corrective action implementation, and audits. This role ensures product compliance with customer specifications, industry standards, and regulatory requirements, contributing to continuous improvement within the Quality Management System (QMS).

Key Job Accountabilities:

• Product Compliance: Ensure products meet customer specifications, industry standards, regulatory requirements, and Plexus standards. Approve changes and deviations, including ECOs. Lead the creation and maintenance of Master Validation Plans and support validation activities. Ensure Assembly Build Instructions (ABIs) comply with specifications.
• Manufacturing Quality: Ensure continuous quality compliance in manufacturing operations. Monitor operations, address quality issues promptly, provide quality alerts, and lead containment and purges. Develop inspection strategies for receiving, pre-ship, and out-of-box audits. Ensure Certificates of Compliance and manufacturing quality history documentation are maintained.
• Quality Awareness: Build and embed quality awareness by ensuring effective training and inspections. Educate operators and production associates on quality and compliance procedures.
• Problem Solving and Corrective Action: Lead the investigation and resolution of non-conformances and customer complaints, driving root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) implementation and closure.

Education/Experience Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 3 - 5 years of related experience; or equivalent work experience.
• A combination of education, experience, and time in field will be considered. Internal candidates may have specific requirements based on demonstrated skills and contributions.

Physical Requirements:

• Supports operational teams in a manufacturing environment, requiring the use of personal protective equipment.
• Manufacturing facilities maintain comfortable temperatures, low noise levels, and suitable lighting.
• May require walking, standing, sitting, computer use, and other office equipment operation.
• Interaction with people and equipment is event-driven and includes inspecting, qualifying, troubleshooting, and improving jigs, fixtures, and manufacturing methods.
• May require working individually with prolonged focus on written material, collaboratively as part of a team, and utilizing multiple software systems.
