What they need

Put your quality engineering expertise to work where it makes a difference.

Do you enjoy solving manufacturing challenges, working directly with production teams, and finding ways to make processes better?

Res Manufacturing Company is seeking a Quality Engineer to join our team. Due to an upcoming retirement, we're searching for someone who brings technical expertise, curiosity, and a collaborative approach to problem-solving.

Reporting to our Manufacturing Engineering Manager, you'll work closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Production, and other departments to support product quality, strengthen manufacturing processes, and drive continuous improvement.

This is a hands-on technical role offering involvement across new product launches, ongoing manufacturing operations, and customer quality initiatives.

What You'll Do

As our Quality Engineer, you'll play an important role in supporting product quality, process capability, and continuous improvement throughout our manufacturing operations.

New Product Launch & Quality Planning

  • Participate in APQP activities and develop and submit PPAP documentation.
  • Develop and maintain PFMEAs and Control Plans throughout the product life cycle.
  • Evaluate measurement systems, perform Gage R&R studies, and analyze process capability and stability.
  • Support production trials, new product introductions, and safe-launch activities.

Manufacturing Quality & Problem-Solving

  • Work directly with production and engineering teams to investigate quality concerns and improve manufacturing processes.
  • Facilitate root-cause analysis and corrective action activities as assigned.
  • Apply statistical techniques and technical analysis to evaluate process performance and validate improvements.
  • Manage Material Review Board (MRB) activities and support investigations of nonconforming products.
  • Identify opportunities to improve product quality, process consistency, and manufacturing effectiveness.

Customer Quality

  • Help ensure customer expectations are understood and reflected in our manufacturing processes.
  • Coordinate technical investigations related to customer complaints.
  • Support the evaluation of customer-specific requirements and work with cross-functional teams to address concerns.

Quality Systems & Continuous Improvement

  • Support our certified Quality Management System and participate as an Internal Auditor.
  • Recommend improvements to quality systems and processes.
  • Manage internal laboratory services and support the effectiveness of measurement systems.

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) designation.
  • At least three years of experience in a similar position.
  • Experience supporting a certified quality management system, such as ISO or IATF.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and demonstrated experience improving quality in a manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of quality tools, including FMEA, root-cause analysis, and statistical analysis.
  • Quality audit experience.

Experience That Would Be a Plus

  • Knowledge of metal stamping processes.
  • Automotive manufacturing experience.
  • GD&T knowledge.
  • Project management experience.
  • Formal Internal Auditor training or experience.

What Will Help You Succeed

We're looking for someone who enjoys getting involved, asking questions, and working collaboratively to solve problems.

You'll be successful in this role if you:

  • Are naturally curious and enjoy understanding how manufacturing processes work.
  • Can move comfortably between technical analysis and hands-on problem-solving.
  • Communicate effectively.
  • Bring a practical, solutions-oriented approach to quality challenges.
  • Take initiative, follow through on commitments, and look for opportunities to improve.
  • Value teamwork and recognize that lasting improvements require collaboration across departments.

Why Consider Res?

Res is an ISO 9001/IATF 19649 certified contract metal stamping manufacturer serving customers with stamped products and highly engineered assemblies. Our capabilities include metal stamping, welding, and value-added manufacturing operations.

Our Quality Engineer has the opportunity to contribute throughout the manufacturing process, from new product development through ongoing production. You'll work closely with experienced manufacturing professionals, apply a broad range of quality engineering tools, and help develop practical solutions that make a difference on the production floor.

If you're looking for a quality engineering position that combines technical challenges, cross-functional collaboration, and meaningful involvement in manufacturing operations, we'd welcome the opportunity to learn more about you.
