What they need
About the Company
Join a specialized engineering company supporting one of the most technically demanding industries in the world: commercial nuclear power.
For more than four decades, this company has provided safety-related materials, engineering, testing, qualification, fabrication, repair, and technical services to nuclear facilities in the U.S. and around the world. It operates two facilities in Norcross, Georgia, and it’s big enough to work on major global nuclear programs but small enough that individual engineers get real ownership and visibility.
The company has developed thousands of nuclear-qualified component and testing procedures. Its work includes seismic and environmental qualification, commercial-grade dedication, control system design and integration, material testing, reverse engineering, obsolescence solutions, repair, and refurbishment.
Here, quality isn’t a downstream inspection step. It decides whether equipment can be used in a safety-related nuclear application at all, so a quality engineer’s work is at the center of everything the company ships.
What You’ll Do
You’ll own quality activities from start to finish on customer orders, making sure components, assemblies, testing, suppliers, and documentation meet demanding technical and quality requirements.
- Review customer purchase orders, specifications, and technical requirements, and build quality plans for each order
- Make sure work follows customer requirements, internal procedures, and industry standards
- Review and approve procurement documentation for materials and services
- Create and approve dedication and qualification test procedures for electrical, mechanical, chemical, and construction components
- Review test and inspection data against acceptance criteria, and investigate failed tests and product issues
- Create, disposition, approve, and close non-conformance and deviation reports
- Perform inspections and verify that properly calibrated test equipment is used
- Review and approve vendor test reports, certificates, and engineering and quality documents
- Work directly with suppliers and customers on quality requirements and documentation
- Manage supplier qualification and evaluate supplier performance
- Take part in internal and external audits and commercial-grade supplier surveys
- Support corrective and preventive actions and continuous improvement
- Perform or review 10 CFR Part 21 evaluations when required
- Maintain calibration, training, qualification, and quality records
What You Bring
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (required)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication
- Able to turn technical specifications into measurable quality and acceptance requirements
- Comfortable with detailed documentation, traceability, and strict procedural compliance
- Comfortable using electronic systems and databases to keep accurate records
- Preferred: familiarity with 10 CFR 50 Appendix B, 10 CFR Part 21, and ASME NQA-1
Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary: $60K to $72K
- Medical (HSA or PPO), dental, and vision
- HSA with a company contribution
- Basic life and AD&D, plus voluntary life and disability coverage
- Employee assistance program and telemedicine
Logistics
- On-site in Norcross, GA, across office, lab, and warehouse
- Travel about 25% to suppliers, subcontractors, and customer sites
- Must be able to lift at least 25 lbs and perform physical inspections
If you have an electrical engineering background and like work where getting the details right really matters, we’d like to hear from you.
