Role Description

The Quality Engineer role at SoftSensor.ai is a full-time, on-site position based in Jaipur. This role is responsible for designing and implementing quality standards and processes for data, analytics, and AI products, ensuring consistent product performance and reliability. Day-to-day tasks include developing and executing test plans, conducting root cause analysis, collaborating with engineering and product teams to resolve defects, and monitoring key quality metrics. The Quality Engineer will also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, document quality procedures, and support compliance with internal and client quality requirements.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess skills in Quality Engineering and Product Quality to design, implement, and improve quality frameworks for data and AI solutions.
• Candidates should possess skills in Quality Assurance and Quality Control to plan tests, validate deliverables, and identify defects before release.
• Candidates should possess skills in Quality Management to define standards, track quality metrics, and support continuous improvement across projects.
• Experience with software testing methodologies, test automation tools, and defect tracking systems is highly beneficial.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and clear documentation practices.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate quality issues and recommendations in a clear, structured manner.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Familiarity with data pipelines, analytics platforms, or AI/ML workflows is a plus.

Role objective

Own testing for assigned application modules and provide evidence-based recommendations on release readiness.

Key responsibilities

• Review requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria to identify gaps and define test coverage.
• Prepare test scenarios, test cases, test data, and traceability documentation.
• Perform functional, integration, regression, smoke, exploratory, and cross-browser testing.
• Validate REST APIs using Postman or equivalent tools.
• Use SQL to validate data and investigate defects when database access is available.
• Report reproducible defects with evidence, severity, and business impact.
• Coordinate defect triage, retesting, and UAT with developers and business stakeholders.
• Communicate testing progress, unresolved risks, and release readiness.
• Develop and maintain automated regression tests where applicable.

Required skills

• 3–4 years of hands-on QA experience with web applications.
• Strong manual testing, API testing, and basic SQL skills.
• Understanding of software development and testing lifecycles.
• Familiarity with Jira or equivalent tools and Agile delivery.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and written communication.
• Ability to independently manage testing priorities.

Preferred skills

• Experience with Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium.
• Exposure to CI/CD and performance testing.
• At least one of the two hires should ideally have practical automation experience.
