Quality Engineer (IQC/Testing/Lab)

About the role

Provide engineering services to facilitate the production of products which consistently meet all customer expectations. Analyze customer concerns using a continuous improvement philosophy to determine containment, root cause, corrective and preventive actions. Project manage proposed improvement activities and changes resulting from customer concerns and quality improvements.

Key responsibilities

• Liaise with customers to ensure the correct quality parts and processes are in place to maintain customer satisfaction
• Quality control of work by appropriate review and preparation inspection criteria/inspection method and necessary equipment
• Inspect and verify incoming raw materials, components, and parts according to specifications, drawings, and quality standards
• Perform IQC inspections using measuring instruments such as vernier callipers, micrometres, gauges, and other inspection equipment
• Conduct laboratory tests and product/material testing according to established test methods and procedures
• Prepare test samples and record test results accurately
• Compare inspection and test results against specifications and acceptance criteria
• Identify and report non-conforming materials or test results to the Quality/Engineering team
• Supervise and control quality related tasks for Quality Line Leaders / Quality operators
• Participate in activities taken to implement the health, safety and environment program

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Quality, Mechanical, Electrical, Materials Science, Chemistry, or a related field
• 3-5 years in quality functions
• Engineering knowledge and Product knowledge
• IATF 16949 requirement knowledge
• Knowledge of PPAP, APQP, MSA, FMEA, SPC, Control plan
• Good knowledge of drawing and GD&T and manufacturing process
• Knowledge of Quality system and basic equipment and measurement system
• English language proficiency
• Strong interpersonal skills, systematic thinking, and good leadership
• Familiar with statistical analysis and ability to analyze and solve problems using the 8D corrective action method
