Overview Joby Metal is seeking an experienced and technically strong Quality Engineer Lead to join our Quality team. This role will lead and manage the Quality Engineering team, driving continuous improvement in product quality and the quality management system. Reporting to the Quality Lead, this is a core member of the Quality Department's management team and requires solid experience in aerospace precision machining quality management along with strong team leadership capability.

主导重大产品质量问题的根本原因分析与系统性改善（8D、5Why、FMEA等），确保问题得到有效关闭并落实预防措施。

建立并完善公司质量管理体系（AS9100D/EN9100），组织内部审核与管理评审，确保体系符合航空客户及适航要求。

统筹产品的质量策划工作，包括IPIP及FMEA的评审与批准，确保新产品导入满足客户质量要求。

监督供应商质量管理工作，审核重大供应商质量问题的处理方案，推动供应链质量持续提升。

跟踪关键质量指标（如NCR率、报废率、客户投诉率、一次合格率等），定期向管理层汇报质量状况并制定改善计划。

代表公司接受客户及第三方审核，处理客户质量投诉及索赔，维护客户关系。

培养和发展团队成员，建立品质工程师能力矩阵与培训体系。

Responsibilities Manage the day-to-day operations of the Quality Engineering team, including task allocation and performance evaluation, to improve team capability and efficiency.

Lead root cause analysis and systematic improvement (8D, 5 Whys, FMEA, etc.) for major product quality issues, ensuring effective closure and implementation of preventive actions.

Establish and maintain the company's quality management system (AS9100D/EN9100), organize internal audits and management reviews to ensure compliance with aerospace customer and airworthiness requirements.

Oversee product quality planning, including the review and approval of IPIP and FMEA, to ensure that new product introductions meet customer quality requirements.

Oversee supplier quality management, review resolution plans for major supplier quality issues, and drive continuous improvement of supply chain quality.

Track key quality indicators (such as NCR rate, scrap rate, customer complaint rate, first pass rate, etc.), report the quality status to management regularly, and develop improvement plans.

Represent the company in customer and third-party audits, and handle customer quality complaints and claims to maintain customer relationships.

Develop and grow team members by building a competency matrix and training program for quality engineers.

【任职资格】

本科及以上学历，机械工程、材料工程、质量管理或相关工程专业；8年以上制造业质量管理经验，其中至少3年从事航空航天精密加工（CNC）相关行业，2年以上团队管理经验。

精通AS9100D/EN9100质量管理体系，具备体系建立、内部审核及管理评审经验；熟悉CNC加工工艺及常见材料特性，具备扎实的机械图纸及GD&T解读能力。

精通质量工具：8D、5Why、鱼骨图、FMEA、SPC、MSA、CPK计算等，并能指导团队应用；熟悉NADCAP特种工艺（热处理、无损检测、化学处理等）审核要求。

具备内部审核员资格（AS9100/ISO9001），有主导客户审核或第三方审核经验者优先；良好的英语读写与沟通能力，能独立完成英文质量报告及跨国客户沟通。

优秀的团队领导力、系统思维与跨部门协作能力，高度的责任心与原则性，能够在多任务、多项目并行的工作节奏下保持高质量产出。

Required Bachelor's degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Quality Management, or a related engineering field.

8+ years of quality management experience in a manufacturing environment, including at least 3 years in aerospace precision (CNC) machining, and 2+ years of team management experience.

Proficient in the AS9100D/EN9100 quality management system, with experience in system establishment, internal auditing, and management review.

Familiar with CNC machining processes and common material characteristics; strong ability to interpret mechanical drawings and GD&T.

Prior experience working in US-owned, foreign-owned, or aerospace supply chain companies is preferred.

Desired

Proficient in quality tools: 8D, 5 Whys, fishbone diagram, FMEA, SPC, MSA, and CPK calculation, and able to coach the team in their application.

Familiar with NADCAP special process audit requirements (heat treatment, NDT, chemical processing, etc.).

Internal auditor certification (AS9100/ISO9001) preferred; experience leading customer or third-party audits is a plus.

Good English reading, writing, and communication skills; able to independently produce quality reports in English and communicate with multinational customers.

Knowledge of or management experience with NDT is a plus.
