Job Title: Quality Engineer

Location: Mesquite, TX (On-site)

Employment Type: Full-Time

About the Role

We are looking for a detail-oriented quality professional to join our solar module manufacturing Quality team in Mesquite, TX. This role has two core parts: (1) reviewing the quality and technical portions of contracts from the factory perspective, and (2) coordinating product certification work with certification bodies and test labs from application to final certificate .

If you are the person who reads the fine print, notices when a requirement doesn’t match what the factory can deliver and keeps following up until an open item is closed, this role is for you. You will work closely with the Certification & Quality lead and with sales, legal, engineering, and production teams.

Key Responsibilities

Contract Quality Review

  • Review the quality and technical sections of contracts, including supply agreements (MSAs), quality appendices, and technical specifications
  • Identify tricky, ambiguous, or high-risk language, such as requirements beyond the standard specifications, unclear acceptance or rejection criteria, extra testing or inspection obligations, factory audit and third-party inspection rights, and certification requirements
  • Compare customer requirements against product datasheets, standard specifications, existing certifications, and factory capabilities, and identify any gaps
  • Record each finding in a structured review log for the manager’s review and decision
  • Track open contract items through the negotiation, keep versions organized, and confirm that agreed changes appear in the final contract
  • Gather input from other departments when a contract requirement needs a technical answer

Certification Coordination

  • Act as the day-to-day contact with certification bodies and test labs for product certification projects
  • Prepare and submit application packages, documentation, and technical submittals
  • Follow up regularly on project status, open questions, and outstanding items, and escalate delays as needed
  • Maintain the certification tracking log
  • Request and compare quotes from labs and service providers, and support lab selection
  • Organize certification records and provide certificates and supporting documents for audits and customer requests

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in quality, supplier or customer quality, contract administration, compliance, or product certification, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience reviewing technical or commercial documents
  • Comfortable reading dense contract and technical language and summarizing the key issues clearly and concisely
  • Self-directed, able to work independently, manage multiple projects with external parties, and drive open items to closure with minimal supervision
  • High attention to detail and well-organized record keeping
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Proficiency in Excel and Word; experience maintaining trackers or logs
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, a technical field, or business

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with contract review or customer requirements review in a quality role
  • Familiarity with standards such as UL61730 and IEC61215 is preferred
  • Experience working directly with certification bodies or third-party test labs is a plus
  • Background in solar or electrical products is a plus
