Title: RM - Application Lead (Quality Engineering Lead / Test Lead)

Location: Remote (Nashville, TN / Tax Location: Atlanta, GA)

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are seeking an experienced Senior Technical Delivery Lead with deep expertise in Service Virtualization and Java-based API Development to lead complex enterprise application modernization, integration, testing, and delivery initiatives. This role bridges hands-on technical architecture and delivery oversight, coordinating across cross-functional engineering, architecture, QA, and business teams. The ideal candidate will eliminate environmental bottlenecks and streamline downstream dependency testing across large-scale distributed systems.

DAY-TO-DAY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise service virtualization solutions using SmartBear ReadyAPI and WireMock to decouple unavailable downstream dependencies.
• Virtualize REST/SOAP APIs and complex downstream services to facilitate parallel development cycles, integration testing, and earlier defect identification.
• Provide technical leadership and governance for the design, development, integration, and troubleshooting of Java-based REST APIs, microservices, and JAX-WS integrations.
• Own technical project execution and dependency management across application development, architecture, QA, DevOps, infrastructure, and delivery teams.
• Partner with testing and performance engineering teams to define comprehensive test strategies, optimize test data, and isolate performance bottlenecks across APIs and databases.
• Serve as the senior technical escalation point for complex application, API, virtualization, and multi-environment integration issues.

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Service Virtualization (8–10 years): Expert-level design and implementation using SmartBear ReadyAPI and WireMock for REST/SOAP services.
• Java & API Development (8–10 years): Strong hands-on engineering background in Java, RESTful microservices, database integration, and JAX-WS (Java API for XML Web Services - 6+ years).
• Technical Project Management (8+ years): Proven track record owning technical delivery roadmaps, cross-functional risk mitigation, and architecture coordination.

ADDITIONAL DESIRED SKILLS

• Performance Testing & Engineering: Load/stress analysis and root-cause bottleneck isolation across integration layers.
• Delivery Management & CI/CD Integration: Automating testing gates and virtualization frameworks within CI/CD pipelines.
• Client & Stakeholder Engagement: Strong communication skills to liaise with client technology leadership, product owners, and enterprise architects.
• Modernization Frameworks: Experience transitioning legacy monoliths and SOAP services into decoupled microservice architectures.
