What to Expect

The Quality Engineering Manager, Solar is a founding leader in our new, greenfield Solar Manufacturing group. This is a high-impact, hands-on role for an experienced manufacturing quality executive who thrives on building organizations and systems from the ground up. Build and scale a world-class quality organization, establishing QMS, driving yield improvement, ensuring regulatory compliance, and developing a data-driven quality culture. Own product quality from R&D through mass production, partnering with engineering, supply chain, and operations to deliver industry-leading cell efficiency, reliability, and cost.

What You'll Do

  • Build and lead a data-driven quality engineering team (managers, engineers, technicians, inspectors)
  • Mentor and develop talent; establish training programs for quality tools
  • Support 24/7 operations with cross-shift quality coverage
  • Define quality metrics, KPIs, and reporting dashboards for manufacturing processes
  • Lead internal and external audits; manage corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
  • Lead root cause analysis (8D, 5 Whys, fishbone) for major quality events
  • Deploy Statistical Process Control (SPC) across critical parameters
  • Establish process capability studies (Cp, Cpk) and drive continuous improvement
  • Establish characterization and reliability testing programs
  • Develop supplier quality requirements and qualification protocols (PPAP/First Article)

What You'll Bring

  • Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Materials or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 7+ years of experience in manufacturing quality leadership in high-volume, high-speed production — solar or semiconductor industries highly preferred
  • Proven track record building and leading a strong team in a 24x7 manufacturing environment —greenfield start up experience highly preferred
  • ISO 9001:2015 Lead Auditor, Six Sigma (Black Belt), ASQ Certified Quality Manager (CQM) or Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in Root Cause Analysis, Statistical Analysis, APQP and Six Sigma tools and methodologies
  • Track record of managing new product and material introductions in a high-complexity manufacturing environment
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments; manages competing priorities, hits deadlines, and follows through without losing composure
  • Detail-oriented, data-driven decision-maker who leverages metrics, root-cause analysis, and structured problem-solving to drive outcomes
  • Clear, direct communicator — equally effective on the shop floor and in front of senior leadership; fluent in multi-cultural, multi-functional team environments
