Nicholls Engineering Systems Ltd – Long Marston, Stratford-upon-Avon

Due to continued growth in our aerospace order book and recent investment in new inspection equipment, we are looking to expand our inspection team and recruit an experienced Quality Inspector.

The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting precision machined components and ensuring they meet drawing, customer and quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• First-off, in-process and final inspection
• Completing First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs)
• Inspecting components to engineering drawings
• Using CMMs and standard inspection equipment
• Maintaining inspection and calibration records
• Supporting non-conformance investigations
• Working with production and engineering staff to resolve quality issues
• Ensuring traceability and quality documentation is completed correctly

Experience Required

Applicants must:

• Have previous experience in an engineering inspection role
• Be confident reading and interpreting engineering drawings
• Be able to complete First Article Inspection Reports independently
• Have practical experience using CMMs
• Be confident using micrometers, verniers, height gauges, bore gauges, thread gauges, plug/ring gauges and other standard measuring equipment
• Be comfortable working to close tolerances
• Have a good understanding of quality documentation and traceability

Previous experience within an AS9100 aerospace environment would be a strong advantage.

Working Hours and Holiday

• 39 hours per week
• Monday to Thursday
• Four-day working week
• 20 days annual holiday
• Bank holidays in addition

Location

Applicants must already live within a reasonable commuting distance of Long Marston, Stratford-upon-Avon and be able to commute to site reliably.

This role is not suitable for applicants looking to relocate.

Salary

Competitive and dependent on experience.
