Quality Inspector

About the role

Alsop Engineering Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Quality Inspector to join our manufacturing and engineering team at our Taren Point facility in NSW. This is a full-time position that plays a critical role in ensuring the highest standards of product quality and compliance across our operations. As Quality Inspector, you will be responsible for inspecting, testing and verifying components and finished products to meet our stringent quality specifications and regulatory requirements. This role is essential to maintaining our reputation for excellence and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities

• Conducting detailed inspections of mechanical components and assembled products using precision measurement tools and equipment
• Performing quality control tests and documentation to verify that products meet design specifications and industry standards
• Identifying defects, non-conformities and deviations from quality standards, and reporting findings to production and management teams
• Maintaining accurate and detailed inspection records, test results and quality documentation in compliance with company procedures and regulatory requirements
• Collaborating with production, engineering and procurement teams to investigate quality issues and implement corrective actions
• Operating and maintaining calibration of quality control equipment and measuring instruments
• Conducting first-piece inspections and in-process inspections during manufacturing runs
• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and contributing to the development and refinement of quality processes
• Ensuring compliance with relevant Australian and international quality standards and certifications

What we're looking for

• Proven experience working as a Quality Inspector or Quality Assurance professional within mechanical engineering or manufacturing environments
• Strong knowledge of quality control principles, inspection techniques and statistical process control methods
• Proficiency in using precision measurement tools such as calipers, micrometres, gauges and coordinate measuring machines (CMM)
• Familiarity with relevant quality standards including ISO 9001, ISO 13849 or similar quality management systems
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications and blueprints
• Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to inspection and testing procedures
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document findings clearly and accurately
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality management software systems
• A relevant qualification in engineering, quality assurance or a related discipline is highly desirable
• Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a commitment to continuous improvement
