Quality Lab Technician

About the role

This role involves performing material testing on aluminium raw materials and finished products, conducting dimensional and visual inspections on stamped battery casings, and supporting quality assurance activities in a manufacturing laboratory environment.

Key responsibilities

• Perform material testing on aluminium raw materials and finished products (e.g. hardness test, thickness, surface inspection)
• Conduct dimensional and visual inspection on stamped battery casings
• Assist in analysing defects related to stamping process (e.g. dent, crack, deformation)
• Record and maintain accurate lab test results and inspection reports
• Support investigation on quality issues and assist in root cause analysis
• Ensure all testing equipment is calibrated and maintained properly
• Prepare and handle samples for testing and documentation
• Work closely with production and QA team to ensure product quality meets customer requirements
• Assist during customer audits, internal audits, and vendor inspections
• Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental procedures in the lab

About you

• Diploma or Certificate in Engineering, Material Science, Manufacturing, or related field
• Minimum 1–2 years of working experience in a manufacturing or laboratory environment is preferred
• Experience in metal stamping, aluminium processing, or related manufacturing industry will be an added advantage
• Hands-on experience in conducting material testing, inspection, and quality control activities is preferred
• Familiarity with handling lab equipment and measuring tools (e.g. vernier caliper, micrometer) is an advantage
• Experience in supporting quality investigation, defect analysis, or root cause analysis is a plus
• Exposure to ISO standards (e.g. ISO 9001) or involvement in audits will be an added advantage
• Basic knowledge of quality inspection and testing
• Able to use measuring tools (e.g. vernier caliper, micrometer)
