What they need

CPB Contractors is Australia’s leading contractor, and as part of the CIMIC Group, we are proud to be constructing New Zealand’s future and do so collaboratively with our partners and clients.

We hire for careers, not project life. CPB Contractors has more than 50 major infrastructure projects in delivery, across all key sectors of the construction industry, including roads and bridges, rail, tunnelling, defence, airports, buildings and resources, providing you with career opportunities for years to come.

Your Opportunity

A unique opportunity exists for a Quality Manager to lead and enhance quality management systems on a large infrastructure project based in Brisbane. In this role, you’ll play a crucial role in implementing and maintaining robust quality management processes, ensuring compliance with client requirements, and driving excellence throughout the project lifecycle.

The role is ideal for a professional with extensive construction quality assurance experience on construction projects, strong leadership qualities, and a proven ability to navigate complex technical and stakeholder requirements.

Minimum Requirements for this Role:

  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (Engineering, Science, or similar) from a recognised tertiary institution, or a trade qualification in construction-related disciplines.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant construction experience, including at least 3 years in construction quality management on major projects.
  • Experience as a Lead Auditor of Quality Management Systems, with strong knowledge of integrated Safety, Health, and Environmental management systems.
  • Detailed understanding of relevant Australian standards, both technical and related to quality management systems.
  • Knowledge of Tier 1 safety and quality assurance frameworks.

Experience, Skills, and Behavioural Competencies Required for this Position:

  • Construction quality management experience, with demonstrated knowledge of quality assurance principles, processes, and policies applied to large-scale projects.
  • Ability to apply quality principles to ensure compliance with project-specific scope of works and technical criteria (SWTC).
  • Proficiency in developing and implementing SHEQ (Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality) processes and procedures, and leading others in their application.
  • Demonstrated commercial expertise, including planning, scheduling and providing regular reports on cost, time, and performance metrics.
  • High-level communication skills, including written and oral, with the ability to train, negotiate, influence, and consult with stakeholders.
  • Strong relationship-building skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders, clients, and subcontractors.
  • Presentation skills and the ability to demonstrate and train others effectively.
  • A self-starter who is highly motivated, well-organized, and committed to maintaining the highest possible work standards.

We particularly welcome and encourage applications from Indigenous Peoples, women, the LGBTQIA+ community, mature workers, Veterans and Active Defence Reserve members, people with disabilities and people from different cultural backgrounds. CPB Contractors is proud to hold the Workplace Gender Equality Agency (WGEA) Citation - Employer of Choice for Gender Equality.

We’re always looking for ways to make CPB Contractors a more rewarding place to work and offer a unique set of benefits, including:

  • A rewarding career where we support your development, training and promote from within.
  • Opportunities across all construction sectors so that there is always an opportunity suitable for the next stage in your career.
  • Competitive remuneration and excellent benefits including a health and wellbeing program, discount portal and company-funded salary continuance insurance.
  • Flexible work arrangements and a culture that values diversity and innovation.

Please note: This role is being sourced through CPB Contractors directly and we will not accept applications via external recruitment agencies.
