Quality Manager

About the role

This is a Quality Manager position for a fresh fruit sorting, packing, and export company. The role requires managing the complete QA/QC and Quality Management System, from raw material quality control through production processes, finished products, product specifications, to customer claim and complaint management and factory standards systems.

Key responsibilities

• Manage and control QA/QC operations of the packing house from raw material receipt through sorting, packing, and product release for export
• Define and control Product Specification, Quality Standards, and QC Inspection to align with customer requirements and destination country regulations
• Lead the QC team and monitor field work performance to ensure compliance with standards
• Make quality decisions including Hold, Release, or Reject of non-conforming products
• Handle Customer Claim and Complaint, analyse Root Cause, and develop Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) with follow-up to prevent recurrence
• Collaborate with Production, Sourcing, Packing, Sales, and related departments to analyse and resolve quality issues
• Oversee, develop, and control GHP/GMP, HACCP, and Food Safety systems
• Manage Organic Certification systems and coordinate assessment inspections from Certification Bodies
• Ensure compliance with regulations and registrations for packing houses and agricultural product exports, including Control Measures and partner country requirements
• Plan and conduct Internal Audits, Certification Audits, Customer Audits, and track non-conformance corrections
• Develop, review, and control SOPs, Work Instructions, Specifications, Quality Records, and quality system documentation
• Manage Traceability and Recall systems
• Train and develop the QA/QC team to effectively control quality and resolve field problems
• Report Quality KPIs, Claims/Complaints, non-conformances, and quality risk issues to management

About you

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Food Science, Food Technology, Agriculture, Microbiology, or related field
• Minimum 5 years of QA and QC experience in the food industry with experience managing or supervising QC/QA teams
• Knowledge and experience in GHP/GMP, HACCP, and Food Safety Systems
• Hands-on field quality control experience, not limited to documentation or certification work only
• Ability to analyse quality problems using Root Cause Analysis, 5 Why, Fishbone, CAPA, or related tools
• Experience managing Customer Complaints and Claims and coordinating with various departments to resolve issues
• Leadership capability, decisive decision-making, ability to manage teams and communicate effectively with Production, Sales, and Management
• Ability to work under conditions of raw material variability and make quick quality decisions
• English communication skills and ability to read customer specifications and requirements from foreign customers
• Experience in Fresh Fruit, Fresh Produce, Packing House, Fresh-cut, Frozen Fruit, or food export business is highly valued
• Experience with Organic Certification, Export Certification, Control Measures, or agricultural product export requirements is highly valued
