Quality Manager

Every product that leaves a food site has to be safe, traceable and made to the customer's exact specification. Every audit has to be passed. In this role, you're the person who makes sure it is.

A leading Irish food manufacturer in Co. Roscommon is looking for a Quality Manager to join its site technical team. The site produces fresh and value-added protein products for retail and foodservice customers. You'll own audit readiness, customer specifications and complaint investigations. You'll work closely with the Department of Agriculture (DAFM), and you'll lead and develop the site's Technical and QC team.

This is a strong next step for a food quality professional who already manages people and wants a role with real influence in a fast-paced production environment. You won't just maintain the quality system here. You'll shape how the site performs against it.

What you'll achieve (and why it matters):

You'll keep the site safe, compliant and audit-ready, and you'll keep customers confident in what it produces.

You will:

• Champion compliance with regulatory, BRCGS, TFMS, MPQAS and customer standards
• Strengthen the Food Safety Management System and keep it effective
• Work closely with DAFM representatives, attend weekly meetings and resolve issues promptly
• Keep the site audit-ready at all times, and prepare for and support customer, regulatory and accreditation audits
• Support the traceability programme, with timely and accurate responses to customer requests
• Manage and maintain customer product specifications
• Work with commercial, sales and production teams to develop specifications for new products
• Monitor and report on customer KPIs, and drive corrective actions where needed
• Lead customer complaint investigations using root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
• Drive high standards in how internal and external non-conformances are handled
• Guide, mentor and develop the Technical and QC team
• Contribute to continuous improvement projects across the site

What you'll bring:

• A qualification in Agricultural Science, Food Science, Food Technology or a related discipline
• Experience in a similar quality role within food manufacturing
• People management experience
• Strong knowledge of HACCP, BRCGS, GMP, TACCP, VACCP and EU food safety regulations
• A proven track record in food safety compliance and quality systems management
• Experience managing audits and working with regulators and customers
• Confidence leading investigations and driving corrective actions through to closure

Your edge (desired, not required):

• Knowledge of animal welfare standards
• QQI Level 6 Advanced HACCP certification
• Experience in a meat processing environment under DAFM supervision
