About Signature Flatbreads

Signature Flatbreads produces a range of award-winning flatbreads and morning goods for major UK retailers, QSRs, food manufacturers and foodservice customers. We are committed to delivering safe, legal and high-quality products while continuously improving our standards, systems and ways of working.

The Role

We are looking for a proactive and hands-on Quality Manager to support the management and continuous improvement of our Quality Management System (QMS) and Food Safety Management Systems.

This is a predominantly factory-based role requiring a strong presence within production and operational areas to support compliance, auditing, standards verification and continuous improvement activities across the sites.

You will be responsible for supporting the development, maintenance and continuous improvement of the Quality Management System, ensuring compliance with legal requirements, customer standards and third-party certification requirements.

You will play a key role in maintaining site standards, conducting internal audits, reviewing and improving procedures, raising and managing non-conformances, and ensuring corrective and preventative actions are implemented and verified for effectiveness.

You will also be responsible for reviewing policies, procedures and work instructions to ensure they remain accurate, effective and aligned with business, customer and certification requirements.

Working closely with Operations, Engineering, Hygiene and Technical teams, you will help drive continuous improvement, support root cause investigations and ensure the site remains audit-ready at all times.

The Quality Manager will also provide holiday cover for Site Technical Managers, ensuring continuity of technical support, audit compliance, customer requirements and food safety management across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the management and continuous improvement of the site's Quality and Food Safety Management Systems.
  • Manage action plans arising from audits, gap analyses and customer visits.
  • Monitor compliance against company procedures, customer requirements and certification standards.
  • Raise, investigate and manage non-conformances, ensuring effective corrective and preventative actions are implemented and verified.
  • Review, update and maintain procedures, standards and work instructions.
  • Ensure systems, records and documentation remain accurate and audit-ready.
  • Support customer, retailer and third-party audits.
  • Support allergen, hygiene, pest control and foreign body management programmes.
  • Conduct factory inspections and standards verification activities.
  • Work closely with Production, Engineering and Hygiene teams to improve site standards and drive compliance.
  • Provide holiday cover for Site Technical Managers as required.

About You

You will be someone who enjoys being on the factory floor, challenging standards where necessary and driving improvements through auditing, coaching and problem-solving.

Essential

  • Previous experience in a Technical, Quality, Compliance or Food Safety role within food manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of HACCP, GMP and Food Safety Management Systems.
  • Experience conducting internal audits.
  • Knowledge of BRCGS Standards and retailer requirements.
  • Experience managing non-conformances and corrective action plans.
  • Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to influence and challenge at all levels of the business.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Desirable

  • HACCP qualification (Level 3 or above).
  • Food Safety qualification (Level 3 or above).
  • Internal Auditor or Lead Auditor qualification.
  • Bakery manufacturing experience.
  • Experience working with major UK retailers.
  • Knowledge of food legislation and quality management systems.
  • Health & Safety knowledge.
  • Experience managing pest control programmes.

What We Offer

  • Company bonus scheme
  • Ongoing training and development
  • Career progression opportunities
