What they need

About the role

TMS Global is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Quality Manager - Packaging to join our team in Pune.

Join us in a pivotal Supplier Quality and Compliance role where you will lead supplier quality assurance, audit, compliance, and risk management activities across our packaging supply network. Working closely with suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders, you will drive continuous improvement, ensure adherence to quality standards, and help deliver exceptional service and product quality to our global clients.

This is a remote-based role in Pune, with regular travel to supplier, customer, and manufacturing sites across India, typically three days per week.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead the qualification, approval, monitoring, and ongoing management of third-party manufacturing and packaging suppliers.
  • Conduct supplier audits, vendor assessments, and participate in customer accreditation audits to ensure compliance with quality and regulatory requirements.
  • Support new product introductions through supplier identification, assessment, and qualification activities.
  • Manage supplier-related quality events, including change controls, deviations, escalations, recalls, corrective actions, and compliance issues.
  • Develop, maintain, and review supplier quality documentation, including Quality Agreements, qualification statements, performance metrics, and remediation plans.
  • Monitor supplier quality performance through KPIs and PPM measures, driving continuous improvement initiatives and corrective actions where required.
  • Investigate and resolve supplier quality issues, customer complaints, and non-conformance reports (NCRs), ensuring timely closure and effective root cause analysis.
  • Collaborate closely with suppliers, customers, and cross-functional teams to strengthen quality, compliance, and operational performance across the supply chain.
  • Support supplier release and approval processes within business systems, including SAP and Lock-IT.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance product quality, compliance, and on-time delivery performance.
  • Manage customer quality documentation requests and ensure quality assurance systems, specifications, and records remain accurate and up to date.

About you

This role will suit a proactive and commercially minded quality professional who thrives in a fast-paced, matrix environment. You will bring strong analytical and problem-solving skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels. You will be confident building effective relationships with suppliers, customers, and internal teams, while driving quality improvements and ensuring compliance across the supply chain.

  • Proven experience in a Supplier Quality Management, Quality Assurance, or Quality Engineering role, ideally within the packaging industry.
  • Strong knowledge of quality management systems, supplier quality processes, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Proven experience managing supplier qualification, supplier audits, performance monitoring, corrective and preventive actions, and continuous improvement programmes.
  • Sound understanding of packaging manufacturing processes, supply chain operations, and associated quality and compliance requirements.
  • Proven experience supporting customer audit programmes and working directly with suppliers to resolve quality issues and drive performance improvements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and deliver sustainable improvements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and experience using SAP or similar ERP systems.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, influencing, and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships.

Due to the nature of the role, fluency in English is required to liaise effectively with clients and colleagues.

Job overview

This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing global organisation where you will have the autonomy to influence supplier quality strategy, drive continuous improvement, and make a tangible impact on customer satisfaction and business performance.
