About Getz Fire Equipment Company
Getz Fire Equipment Company has protected people and property for generations, providing fire protection equipment, inspection, and service to businesses and communities across the region. We're a stable, employee-focused company where careful work gets noticed and long careers are the norm.
About the Role
We're hiring an experienced Quality Support Specialist to be the day-to-day lead for our Engineered Systems field service technicians and installers. You'll make sure work is done safely, to Getz quality standards, and in line with NFPA 72, 12, 17, 2001, and other applicable standards, while coaching technicians, coordinating daily assignments, and handling first-level customer issues for the Division Manager. This is a field-based, safety sensitive position with a company vehicle.
What You'll Do
- Conduct regular field quality control checks and ride-alongs, and report results to the Division Manager
- Serve as the first point of contact for technician questions, job assignments, and scheduling
- Resolve customer complaints at the field level and assist technicians when service falls behind
- Hold vehicles, storage units, and branch offices to company cleanliness standards, and check that technicians have the tools and inventory they need
- Review technician reports for accuracy and serve as backup trainer for hands-on customer training
- Coordinate with other Getz departments, schedule apprentice technicians, cover after-hours service calls, and prepare deficiency quotes for customers
Schedule & Pay
This is a full-time, weekday day-shift position, Monday through Friday, working in the field with a company vehicle. Pay ranges from $35.00 to $38.00 per hour, based on qualifications.
Benefits & Perks
Getz Fire invests in the people who keep our customers safe. Here's what you can expect:
- Health Insurance — Four BCBS medical plan options. Coverage begins the first day of the month following your date of hire.
- Dental & Vision — Affordable dental and vision coverage for you, your spouse, and your children.
- Life & AD&D Insurance — $25,000 in employee life insurance, company paid. Additional life, short-term disability, and long-term disability coverage are also available.
- 401(k) Retirement — The company contributes 50% of your contribution, up to 6% of your pay.
- Profit Sharing — A discretionary company contribution to your 401(k). In 2025, $200,000 was shared among employees who met the length-of-service requirement.
- Paid Time Off — 10 days of PTO in your first year, growing with tenure to 20 days at 20 years of service (includes Illinois Paid Leave).
- Paid Holidays — Eight paid holidays: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, the day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, and Christmas.
