What they need

The Company

Sanitarium is a progressive and dynamic New Zealand-owned business producing some of New Zealand’s leading and most-loved food and beverage brands, including Weet-Bix, UP&GO, So Good and The Alternative Dairy Co.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Technical Manager, the Quality Systems Coordinator plays an important role in supporting food safety, quality and technical activities across our Rosebank manufacturing site.

This is a varied, hands-on role combining day-to-day quality assurance with the ongoing management and improvement of our Food Safety and Quality Management System. You’ll support product testing and release, investigations, verification and validation activities, while ensuring quality records and documentation remain accurate, compliant and up to date.

Working closely with Production and the wider Technical team, you’ll also support audits, product and process trials, new products, packaging and technology changes, and continuous improvement initiatives across the site.

This is a great opportunity for someone with a strong quality or food science background who enjoys being close to operations, solving problems and using quality insights to make a genuine impact within a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate day-to-day quality assurance, laboratory, verification and product release activities.
  • Support Production with technical guidance across food safety, quality and compliance matters.
  • Manage investigations, non-conformances, corrective actions and follow-up activities.
  • Maintain accurate and compliant quality documentation, records and data.
  • Analyse quality, laboratory, verification and production data to identify trends, risks and opportunities for improvement.
  • Support audits, validation and verification activities, product and process trials and technical projects.
  • Partner with Production and the wider Technical team to continuously improve food safety, product quality, compliance and site performance.

About You

You’re a practical and proactive quality professional who enjoys working in a manufacturing environment and can comfortably move between hands-on operational support, technical problem-solving and quality systems.

You’ll bring:

  • A degree qualification or equivalent in Food Science or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 2–3 years’ relevant industry experience.
  • HACCP certification and auditing qualifications.
  • Laboratory and document control experience.
  • A strong understanding of quality assurance and manufacturing processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify trends and turn information into practical actions.
  • The ability to work collaboratively across Production, Technical and other site functions.
  • Experience within food manufacturing, quality assurance, laboratory, technical or quality systems coordination would be highly regarded.

What do we offer?

At Sanitarium, we support our people both at work and beyond. Benefits include:

  • World-class growth and development opportunities and pathways
  • A supportive, purpose-led workplace where you can make a positive difference
  • On-site gym and complimentary access to a fitness app
  • Mental health support for you and your immediate family
  • $100 each year to support your wellbeing journey
  • Comprehensive health and wellbeing programs
  • Early finish every Friday

All applicants must be able to demonstrate that they have the legal right to work in New Zealand.

We are an organisation driven by our mission and values. If you share our passion for what we do, our products and can respect our principles, then this is a great opportunity for you.

Other offers great for you!
