  • Verify correct material identification, labeling, and segregation of door hardware by finish, handing, size, and SKU.
  • Ensure nonconforming material is properly contained and clearly identified to prevent unintended use or shipment.
  • Identify workmanship issues, process deviations, or safety concerns related to door hardware assembly and handling.
  • Document inspection findings and escalate issues as necessary to support corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

Quality & Continuous Improvement

  • Assist with internal, customer, and supplier audits related to material handling, traceability, and shop floor controls.
  • Support root cause investigations related to returns, warranty claims, and recurring defects.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at reducing returns, improving first-pass yield, and enhancing product quality.

What Success Looks Like

  • Returned goods are processed accurately and within expected turnaround time
  • Strong containment and traceability of nonconforming material
  • Reduction in repeat defects and return trends
  • Improved communication and visibility of return data and root causes
  • Consistent shop floor compliance with quality standards

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or relevant technical training is preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in door hardware manufacturing, assembly, warehouse operations, or quality-related roles.

  • Experience in handling RMAs, nonconforming material, or warranty returns.
  • Working knowledge of ERP or inventory management systems.
  • Strong attention to detail, especially with part configurations and finishes.
  • Effective communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently on the shop floor and in warehouse environments.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

  • Ability to walk and inspect the shop floor for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally
  • Use of PPE as required (safety shoes, gloves, eye protection).
