HireArt is helping an on-demand, autonomous ride-hailing company find a Quality Technician (Primary Compute Unit/Suite Assembly) to work with quality, manufacturing, and product development engineering teams to ensure in-house manufactured products meet design specifications and quality standards.
In this role, you'll support cross-functional projects focused on product quality, inspection processes, and continuous improvement. Your performance will be measured against key performance indicators (KPIs), project milestones, and improvements in product yield.
The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of quality control processes, mechanical inspection, and non-conforming material management. You're detail-oriented, organized, and able to work independently, manage competing priorities, and communicate effectively across teams while meeting tight deadlines.
As a Quality Technician (Primary Compute Unit/Suite Assembly), You'll
- Develop and maintain inspection plans, instructions, and incoming, in-process, and outgoing quality control (IQC, IPQC, and OQC) procedures.
- Inspect incoming materials against drawings, specifications, and quality requirements, performing visual, functional, and mechanical inspections on injection-molded parts, castings, 3D-printed components, PCBAs, and electrical sub-assemblies.
- Develop and manage Non-Conforming Material Reports (NCMRs), quarantine procedures, material returns, and associated quality metrics.
- Coordinate the movement and tracking of non-conforming materials from receiving and production into the Material Review Board (MRB) process, including managing quarantine inventory and facilitating disposition meetings.
- Perform root cause and corrective action (RCCA) investigations to resolve quality issues and prevent recurrence.
- Perform equipment calibration and metrology tasks using coordinate measuring machines (CMMs), maintaining calibration schedules and ensuring compliance with ISO requirements.
- Prioritize urgent quality requirements and support material sorting, contamination assessments, and appropriate material disposition.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across incoming inspection, MRB, and outgoing quality processes while documenting inspection results, maintaining reports and logs, and updating quality databases.
Requirements
- An associate degree in a relevant technical discipline or 6 years of applicable work experience
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets
- Thorough understanding of quality management systems (QMS) and quality control fundamentals
- Experience with MRB processes and NCMR management
- Strong understanding of 8D methodology and structured problem-solving techniques
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings using geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
- Basic understanding of process failure mode and effects analysis (PFMEA) and process flowcharts
- Strong planning, organizational, analytical, and prioritization skills
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, decision-making, and written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across departments
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous mechanical inspection experience using basic and precision measurement tools, including calipers, micrometers, and thread gauges
- Understanding of acceptable quality limits (AQL)
- Knowledge of PC-DMIS programming
Benefits
- Pre-tax commuter benefits
- Employer (HireArt) subsidized healthcare benefits (eligibility begins on the first of the month following 60 days of service)
- Flexible Spending Account for healthcare-related costs
- HireArt covers all costs for short- and long-term disability and life insurance
- 401k package
