We’re excited to share that our business has recently joined the a2 Milk Company family. Formerly known as Yashili Dairy NZ Ltd, we are now operating as a2 Nutritionals NZ Limited, based in Pokeno.
The a2 Milk Company, driven by science and a pioneering spirit, disrupted the dairy and infant milk formula industry. Our vision is to create an A1-free world where dairy nourishes all people and our planet.
The a2 Milk Company seeks to achieve this through the naturally occurring a2 Milk® difference and by bringing a more sustainable approach to dairy.
About the role:
Based at our Pokeno manufacturing site and reporting to the Quality Lead – Canning, you’ll help ensure our manufacturing processes consistently meet food safety, quality and regulatory requirements.
You’ll be responsible for completing daily quality checks, supporting investigations into non-conformances and working closely with our Quality and Manufacturing teams to maintain high standards across the site.
This is a full-time, shift-based role working 12-hour shifts on a four days on, four days off roster, including night shifts and weekends.
More specifically, you will be involved in:
- Completing daily quality verification activities, including line clearances, product changeovers and line start-ups.
- Monitoring compliance with HACCP, RMP, OMAR and internal quality procedures, including investigating and documenting non-conformances.
- Coordinating environmental monitoring, product tracebacks and quality reporting.
- Supporting internal audits, SOP development, production trials, refresher training and continuous improvement initiatives.
What you will bring:
- At least 2 years’ experience in food manufacturing or within a Quality team.
- A sound understanding of HACCP and quality systems, with knowledge of food safety and health and safety practices.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with good computer skills and the ability to maintain accurate records.
- The ability to work independently, collaborate with Manufacturing and Quality teams, and identify opportunities to improve processes.
- Experience in dairy powders, infant formula manufacturing, regulatory or customer audits, or continuous improvement would be an advantage.
What we offer
- Medical, Life & Income Protection Insurance.
- Annual Bonus.
- A supportive team culture with learning and development opportunities.
- Free breakfast and lunch provided in our onsite cafeteria.
- Subsidised gym membership.
- Social club.
